Aldi Grocery Store Opens in East Windsor Township in Windsor Center on Route 130 South

Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members joined with Aldi executives for a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting on August 20 for the ALDI grocery store in the Windsor Center, located at the southwest corner of Route 130 and Princeton Hightstown Road. ALDI, which calls itself “the nation’s low price grocery leader”, is occupying the 22,500 square feet former Bottom Dollar space. The company has updated the store with a prototype design that has been successful in their other locations throughout the United States.

Mayor Mironov stated, “ALDI is a good addition to the Windsor Center and East Windsor Route 130 corridor, a new grocery store offering an additional shopping option for our residents and neighboring communities.” Mayor Mironov continued, “We are excited about the continuing positive revitalization activity at Windsor Center resulting from aggressive leasing efforts and dramatic improvements to the Center’s façade and signage.” Mayor Mironov added, “ALDI has made a great decision in choosing Windsor Center in East Windsor for their new store, a prime location at the intersection of two major roadways in the heart of the vibrant Route 130 corridor.”

Founded in 1914, ALDI now operates over 1,400 U.S. locations spanning across 32 states with over 4,000 stores worldwide, primarily in Europe. New Jersey locations include Bordentown, Brick, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Edgewater Park, Hazlet, Howell, Mt. Laurel, Piscataway, Toms River, West Long Branch, and Woodbridge. ALDI was named the 2014 Retailer of the Year by Store Brands Magazine for its strong commitment to value and innovation-focused private brand product development. Current hours of operation are Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 8 pm. For more information, visit their website at www.aldi.us.
