Mayor Janice S. Mironov recently presented the East Windsor Township 2019 and 2020 Annual Business Awards to Diversified Rack & Shelving, Windsor Castle Apartments, One Mile Self Storage, Novitium Pharma, Kyle Family Farm and Greenhill Pharmacy.  The purpose of the annual Township awards program is to recognize local businesses that have made special efforts to improve or contribute to the community. 

Mayor Mironov presented 2019 Business Award to Diversified Rack & Shelving for Green and Sustainable Practices, accepted by President David Longo.  Diversified Rack & Shelving, located on Route 130 North, is a family-owned business since 1990 that supplies industrial racks and shelving of all sizes and configurations.  They are one of the largest suppliers of used racks, shelving and material handling equipment on the East Coast, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly option to their customers.  Diversified Rack & Shelving also has a long history of community service, sponsoring many area organizations and programs, including local youth sports teams, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) of Mercer County, and donating equipment and goods to RISE and other local food banks.  Mayor Mironov stated, “Diversified Rack & Shelving, a longtime family owned business, offers recycled used materials to their customers, thereby promoting environmentally positive business practices. They also invest in many worthwhile causes and organizations in our community.”

Mayor Janice S. Mironov presented 2019 Business Award to Windsor Castle Apartments for Special Community Contributions and Service, accepted by owner Eli Kramer.  Windsor Castle Apartments, located on Devonshire Drive, partnered with East Windsor Township on an innovative program to create affordable housing opportunities, deed restricting one unit as an affordable housing unit for each new unit built, and transforming 28 existing units into affordable housing units.  Windsor Castle substantially upgraded the complex with building improvements, a community club house, laundry and exercise facilities, a new storage building, resulting in a modernized more attractive streetscape look.  Mayor Mironov stated, “East Windsor appreciates the partnership of Windsor Castle Apartments to create new quality affordable housing opportunities in our community.  The owners have revitalized the residential development resulting in a more attractive complex for our residents.”

Mayor Mironov presented 2020 Business Award to One Mile Self Storage for Community Enhancement, accepted by owners Mike McCloskey and Jim Lombardo.  One Mile Self Storage, a 77,268 square foot enclosed self-storage facility located on One Mile Road, was configured to fit on a narrow challenging lot and developed with a distinct architectural design to mirror the look of a local farm with a large barn style building and accessory structures to blend in with the surrounding properties.  Mayor Mironov stated, “The owners of One Mile Self Storage have done an outstanding job creating a unique architectural style which fits well with the surrounding area, and offers a convenient option for residential and commercials business in the area.”  

Mayor Mironov presented 2020 Business Award to Novitium Pharma for Community Enhancement, accepted by CEO Chad Gassert.  Novitium Pharma, established in 2016 and which relocated their operations to a 53,723 square foot facility in East Windsor within their first year, is a pharmaceutical company specializing in development, manufacturing and distribution of generic forms of pharmaceutical products.  In 2020, Novitium Pharma completed a 17,760 square foot expansion to their facility to provide for the installation of innovative pharmaceutical testing equipment for expanded manufacturing and development operations, which underscores the importance of pharmaceutical companies during the health emergency.  Novitium Pharma also generously donated protective personal supplies for Township employee and first responder use during the pandemic and has supported local organizations.  Mayor Mironov stated “Novitium Pharma’s recent expansion increased their facility by nearly 50%, marking a significant investment that will generate additional tax revenue and jobs in East Windsor Township and underscoring the pharmaceutical niche of our business community.  They not only provide critical pharmaceuticals, but also support of local organizations, such as RISE, that serve our area.”  

Mayor Mironov presented 2020 Business Award to Kyle Family Farm for Special Community Contributions and Service, accepted by owner Sharon Kyle.  Kyle Family Farm, a 77 acre family owned farm located on Windsor Perrineville Road since 1998, was recognized with a 2013 Business Award for their popular produce, farm market, bakery, community events and support of Township programs.  The Kyle family early on saw the need to provide a new community service during the pandemic initiating an on-line ordering and drive-thru service for contactless food pickup for locally grown produce and flowers, and then added a ‘Farm to Porch’ delivery option for those unable to leave their homes.  Mayor Mironov stated “Kyle Family Farm, a well-known destination for local residents and visitors with their wide variety of year round events, is community minded, underscoring the importance of our farming businesses to the Township and their quick and creative response to community needs during the pandemic.”

Mayor Mironov presented 2020 Business Award to Greenhill Pharmacy for Special Community Contributions and Service, accepted by owners Harshav Raval and Jay Patel. Greenhill Pharmacy, located on Hickory Corner Road in the Wawa Center, opened in 2018 and established themselves as a neighborhood pharmacy offering personal service including personalized pill boxes and home delivery options.  Greenhill Pharmacy partnered with East Windsor Township in 2020 to host several drive up flu clinics for senior residents, offered free hand sanitizer delivery to residents, and provided convenient local service to distribute Covid vaccines.  Mayor Mironov stated, “Greenhill Pharmacy is a great community partner that outreached to assist the community during the pandemic.  Greenhill Pharmacy’s mission is to be a neighborhood pharmacy, accommodating all of their customers in whatever way they can.”
