Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Presents “2024 Prevention Award” To East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse


EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP. Mayor Janice Mironov, along with Deputy Mayor David Russell, Coordinator of the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse, accepted the “2024 Prevention Award” from the Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction, for EWMAPSA dedication and contributions. 

EWMAPSA was recognized as a great example of a coalition of partners from local government, private citizens and community organizations working together to offer tools to help prevent substance abuse and further to provide opportunities and resources to individuals and families struggling with challenges of substance abuse. The East Windsor Alliance was honored for their dedication, contributing to and encouraging the healthy development of individuals and families through the coordinated community offering a wide variety of diverse multi-cultural and age-appropriate strategies, programs and events to combat substance abuse. 

EWMAPSA isdedicated to increasing the level of community awareness and the prevention of problems related to alcohol, tobacco and other substance abuse through the encouragement and development of safe, healthy and responsible lifestyles for all residents of East Windsor.

 EWMAPSA members include: Deputy Mayor David Russell, EWMAPSA Coordinator; Mayor Janice S. Mironov; Council Member Johnnie Whittington; Police Detective Timothy Purpuri; Al Grupper, Mercer Council; Wayne Varga, Elks Lodge #1955; Robert Laverty, citizen member, and representatives of Better Beginnings, RISE, and Camp Fire NJ.


The East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse (EWMAPSA) received the “2024 Prevention Award” from the Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction for their dedicated efforts in working to prevent substance abuse in the community.
