East Windsor Township Recognizes Volunteer Firefighters of the Year during Fire Prevention Week

East Windsor Township Mayor Janice S. Mironov proclaimed Fire Prevention Week and recognized Volunteer Firefighters of the Year,William L. Kerr of East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, and Brian Morton of East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2.

Mayor Mironov issued Proclamations to Firefighters of the Year Bill Kerr and Brian Morton, “expressing deep appreciation for their special and invaluable contributions and extraordinary dedication.” She noted that “volunteer firefighters William Kerr and Brian Morton are outstanding models, who have devoted countless hours to public service, earning them much respect from Fire Company members and the entire East Windsor community."

William Kerr joined East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 in 2008 and has served as Engineer, Vice President and Trustee. He is an extremely valuable contributor, sharing his expertise on computers and internet, and active on the Fire Prevention Committee visiting local schools and daycare centers, the Membership Committee, Safer Grant Committee, Capital Improvement Committee, and having served as the Company LOSAP Administrator.

Brian Morton joined East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 as a probationary firefighter in 2009 and graduated from the Mercer County Fire Academy in 2010. Brian Morton has responded to over 500 fire calls and attended numerous training drills, community events and prevention activities over the last four years.
