East Windsor Township Housing Rehabilitation Program Funds Remain Available through $200,000 New Jersey Small Cities Community Development Block Grant

Mayor Janice S. Mironov announced that housing rehabilitation funds remain available for homeowners through the Township Housing Rehabilitation Program, funded by a $200,000 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

Through the State grant, East Windsor Township has undertaken a Township-wide housing rehabilitation program to assist low and moderate income homeowners correct existing interior and exterior health, safety and code violations in their home including replacement or substantial repair of roofs, foundations, heating and electrical systems, plumbing system components, lead based paint remediation, weatherization upgrades and /or structural repairs. The program provides up to $15,000 in funding for qualified approved homeowners.

Funds are provided as a no interest deferred loan, with no monthly payments and no interest. The amount is not due or payable until sale or transfer of title and only for the exact amount. There is no cost to apply.

Mayor Mironov stated, “This $200,000 grant has already assisted several Township homeowners repair substandard systems and remedy conditions in disrepair such as windows, roofs and toilets.” Mayor Mironov added, “We are appreciative to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for supporting this community housing rehabilitation program, and I encourage eligible homeowners to take advantage of this valuable opportunity while program funds remain available.”
