Mayor Janice S. Mironov announced that East Windsor Township is hosting a presentation to the public by consultant Taylor Design Group of preliminary findings and proposals to date in connection with the Township “New Jersey Turnpike Exit 8 Transportation and Development Study.” The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the East Windsor Senior Center, 40 Lanning Boulevard.
Mayor Mironov stated, “The purpose of this DVRPC grant funded study is to examine the impacts on area roadways and properties in the area of the New Jersey Turnpike widening project and the relocated and expanded Exit 8 Interchange. The goal of the study is to best position East Windsor to take advantage of the land use opportunities created by the Turnpike improvements.” Mayor Mironov continued, “The findings of this study will assist the Township with identifying effective approaches to attracting high value, high quality business growth in this area. The Township also will use information obtained from this study to assist in possible land use regulation changes and in discussions with potential stakeholders.” Mayor Mironov added, “The Township is excited to share with residents the status of this important transportation and development study and look forward to gaining valuable citizen input.”
The planning initiative, funded by a $100,000 Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) Transportation and Community Development Initiative grant, was undertaken to review the impacts to circulation and development for the surrounding area of the relocated and expanded East Windsor Exit 8 Interchange of the New Jersey Turnpike.
