East Windsor Township Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaims Emergency Medical Services Week and Recognizes EMT's of the Year

Mayor Janice S. Mironov proclaimed Emergency Medical Services Week and recognized and honored Hollis DaSilva, East Windsor Rescue Squad, District I EMT of the Year and Melissa Raczka, East Windsor Rescue Squad, District II EMT of the Year.

Hollis DaSilva, who joined Rescue Squad, District I as a Cadet in 2008, became an adult member in 2010, earned his Emergency Medical Technician certification in 2011, is an active riding member and undergoing training in vehicle rescue operations. Mayor Mironov in a Proclamation praises Hollis DaSilva stating, "Hollis DaSilva is directly responsible for two adult CPR saves and has assisted other volunteers in responding to emergency medical service needs."

Melissa Raczka, who joined Rescue Squad, District II in 2010, completed her emergency medical technician basic training in 2012 and currently serves as Secretary of the Executive Board. Melissa Raczka has accepted additional responsibilities including community outreach, membership drives, training new members and developing new community oriented ideas. Mayor Mironov in a Proclamation praises Melissa Raczka stating, "Melissa Raczka played a vital role in the community’s response to Storm Sandy, as she made herself available to cover shifts during and immediately after the storm so the Rescue Squad could ensure 24 hour ambulance coverage during the restoration and recovery period."

Mayor Mironov congratulated both honorees stating, "Hollis DaSilva and Melissa Raczkas’ hard work, dedication and enthusiasm, as well as their countless hours of service, have earned them the respect of the members of both East Windsor Rescue Squads and the entire community."
