Elementis Specialties Relocates to Sci-Park Science and Technology Center in East Windsor Township

Mayor Janice S. Mironov, joined by Elementis Executives David Dutro, President and Chief Executive Officer of Elementis, Greg McClatchy, President of Elementis Specialties, Dennis Valentino, President of Elementis Chromium, Jerry Horton, Vice President of Human Resources, Walker Allen, General Counsel and Brad Rector, Chief Information Officer, cuts the ribbon for the new location of Elementis Specialties, Inc., a leading worldwide manufacturer of chemical additives, to “Sci-Park” Science and Technology Center, located on Old Trenton Road (County Route 535), to the north of Black Light Power Company and across from Windsor Corporate Park. The company relocated from Wyckoffs Mill Road with approximately 125 employees.

Elementis, the first complex tenant, has occupied the entire 66,000 square foot Phase 1 Building in Sci-Park situated in the designated Einstein’s Alley corridor. The approved Sci-Park complex, which consists of four buildings totaling 240,000 square feet, features research and development, office and lab space with easy access to major transportation systems including the NJ Turnpike and Routes 1, 130 and 133.

David Dutro, President and Group Chief Executive Officer for Elementis, stated “it’s hard to believe that it was just 12 months ago that we were standing in this parking lot attending the groundbreaking ceremony and now we are surrounded by this beautiful state-of-the-art facility. This new North American headquarters in East Windsor represents a substantial investment by Elementis and provides a cutting-edge technical facility to meet our customers evolving needs. This investment also represents a strong commitment and confidence in the central New Jersey business environment.”

Greg McClatchy, President of Elementis Specialties, noted “the Elementis team is thrilled to be located in Einstein’s Alley here in East Windsor, a great place to live and work, especially for a high technology specialty chemicals company.”

Mayor Mironov stated “the relocation of Elementis Specialties, a world leader in research and manufacturing, to East Windsor’s Sci-Park Science and Technology Center, is a major positive spark in launching this exciting project and will help to attract other global companies to locate and maintain facilities in our community. Sci-Park Science and Technology Center is a premier state-of-the-art research and development complex designed to accommodate the amenities, infrastructure and flexibility of high-tech industries.” Mayor Mironov added, “we are excited to welcome Elementis to Sci-Park and the retention of so many jobs and potential patrons of our many local businesses and restaurants. The East Windsor area offers a prime location, convenient access to major transportation systems, well suited sites, and quality labor and resources to support high tech operations.”

Einstein’s Alley is an economic development initiative in the central New Jersey region to highlight and promote the area’s prominence in attracting, building and retaining high-tech companies. Mayor Mironov explained, “The Einstein’s Alley corridor designation is an important focus for East Windsor Township in demonstrating our community’s commitment to support scientific and technology-based businesses.”

Elementis is a global British based company with facilities in China, Germany and The Netherlands. The company’s goal is to be the fastest growing and most competitive supplier of specialty chemical additives in the world. Elementis major products include: BENTONE organoclays; RHEOLATE rheological additives; DAPRO specialty additives; M-P-A anti-settling agents; NALZIN corrosion and rust inhibitors; TINT-AYD colorants and SLIP-AYD waxes and slip additives. These products enhance the feel, flow and finish of everyday products including surface coatings, building products, drilling fluids and cosmetics.
