June 21, 2019 - East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Saturday, July 6 (rain date Saturday, July 13) at Etra Lake Park. Free entertainment begins at 6 P.M. with the Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:45 P.M. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. The spectacular Fireworks Display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 P.M. Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park. There also will be vendors present selling refreshments. - East Windsor Township Will Hold Document Shredding/Recycling Day on Wednesday, July 10 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., at the East Windsor Senior Center, located at 40 Lanning Boulevard. This Township event is sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Members of Council, in conjunction with the East Windsor Clean Communities Committee. Free document shredding will be available to East Windsor residents, with a limit of ten boxes per household. No commercial drop-offs are permitted. RISE will be on-site for drop-off of shoes, clothing, blankets, working appliances, usable furniture, and housewares. - Groups and Businesses Invited to Participate in"National Night Out" Set for Tuesday, August 6, from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the East Windsor PAL Complex, 30 Airport Road. This annual fun educational Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members in conjunction with Chief of Police James Geary, features crime watch information, emergency services equipment, music, booths and displays by area groups and businesses with information and giveaways supporting the National Night Out theme. - Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Initiative, Funded by $6,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, continues through September. The FREE Child Passenger Safety Seat inspections for Township residents, hosted by Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Members of Council and the police department, are to promote child passenger safety. Participants will have their child seats inspected to ensure proper installation and will receive educational materials regarding current state child restraint laws. Sessions will be held as follows: East Windsor Police/Court building, at 80 One Mile Road on Wednesday, July 17, Thursday, August 22, and Friday, September 13 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor PAL Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 6 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
- Improvements to Oak Creek Road from Windsor Center Drive to Heathwood Drive, and Heathwood Drive from Oak Creek Road to Dutch Neck Road Have Been Completed except for remaining punch list items to be addressed by the contractor.
- Improvements to Old Cranbury Road between Route 130 and the Millstone River Bridge at the Township Border with Cranbury, Rocky Brook Road from Old Cranbury Road to Oak Branch Road, and Holland Lane Have Been Completed except for remaining punch list items to be addressed by the contractor.
- Milling and Paving of Cypress Drive from Meadowbrook Road to One Mile Road South and Spruce Road Are Expected to Begin on Monday, June 24 and to take five days, weather permitting. Residents should take note of any posted traffic or parking restrictions in work areas. The project, awarded to Richard T. Barrett Paving Company of Trenton, New Jersey, is anticipated to be fully completed in early July. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.
- No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Thursday, July 4 and All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED due to the Independence Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Thursday, July 4, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Monday, July 8.
