  1. REMINDER:   East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Saturday, July 6 (rain date Saturday, July 13) at Etra Lake Park.  Free entertainment begins at 6 P.M. with the Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:45 P.M. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies.  The spectacular Fireworks Display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 P.M.  Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park.  There also will be vendors present selling refreshments.  This free event is made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.  In the event of inclement weather, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 400 for any updates.
  2. REMINDER:   East Windsor Township Will Hold Document Shredding/Recycling Day on Wednesday, July 10 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., at the East Windsor Senior Center, located at 40 Lanning Boulevard.  This Township event is sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Members of Council, in conjunction with the East Windsor Clean Communities Committee.  Free document shredding will be available to East Windsor residents, with a limit of ten boxes per household.  No commercial drop-offs are permitted.  RISE will be on-site for drop-off of shoes, clothing, blankets, working appliances, usable furniture, and housewares.  NO ELECTRONICS ACCEPTED at this event (i.e. NO televisions, computers, computer accessories and non-working appliances.)  For further information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 215.
  3. ALERT:   Milling and Paving of Cypress Drive from Meadowbrook Road to One Mile Road South and Spruce Road Has Been Rescheduled to Begin on Monday, July 8 as a result of ground water conditions created by consecutive days of heavy rain and to avoid the holiday week, and is expected to take five days, weather permitting.  Residents should take note of any posted traffic or parking restrictions in work areas.  The project, awarded to Richard T. Barrett Paving Company of Trenton, New Jersey, is anticipated to be completed in July.  Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.
  4. Groups and Businesses Invited to Participate in"National Night Out" Set for Tuesday, August 6, from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the East Windsor PAL Complex, 30 Airport Road.  This annual fun educational Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members in conjunction with Chief of Police James Geary, features crime watch information, emergency services equipment, music, booths and displays by area groups and businesses with information and giveaways supporting the National Night Out theme.  Area community groups and businesses who wish to offer support, participate or host a booth can contact Det.   5. AAA Urgent Care Dental Opens New Office at 540 Route 130 South in The Shoppes at East Windsor.  The family dental practice, relocated from Robbinsville, is owned by Dr. Avinash Kuttuva, DDS and offers comprehensive and specialized services, including routine dental exams, pediatric dentistry, cosmetic and restorative procedures.  AAA Urgent Care Dental joins Subzi Mandi Farmers Market, Five Guys, Sherwin Williams and T-Mobile in the newly constructed The Shoppes at East Windsor neighborhood center.  Current hours are Monday through Friday, 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. and by appointment on Saturday and Sunday.  For further information, visit www.aaadentalnj.com.

  6. East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 Is Holding Youth Fire Academy, Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19 from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. at the Company Firehouse (69 Twin Rivers Drive).  Students ages 10 to 15 with an interest in a career in fire service can attend the week-long fire academy-styled training program designed to expose them to the many different aspects of fire service and emergency services involvement.  Activities include learning about personal protection equipment, firefighter tactics, physical training, teamwork and leadership, and basic first aid.  For more information and application forms, call (609) 443-5130 or e-mail chief46ewvfc2@gmail.com.
  7. Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Initiative, Funded by $6,000 NJ Highway Traffic Safety Grant, Will Hold Next Session on Wednesday, July 17.  The FREE Child Passenger Safety Seat inspections for Township residents, hosted by Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Members of Council and the police department, are to promote child passenger safety. Participants will have their child seats inspected to ensure proper installation and will receive educational materials regarding current state child restraint laws.  Sessions will be held as follows:   East Windsor Police/Court building, at 80 One Mile Road on Wednesday, July 17, Thursday, August 22, and Friday, September 13 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor PAL Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 6 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. 
  8. East Windsor Holds "Danny V's 52nd Street Band" Tribute to Billy Joel Concert on Sunday, July 28 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park.  Danny V’s 52nd Street Band is a full-scale, 6 piece group recreating the performances of the “Piano Man” …Billy Joel.  52nd Street offers the best of Billy Joel, covering his entire career from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.  As the longest running tribute to Billy Joel, performances often include many of the greatest hits like We Didn’t Start the Fire, Uptown Girl, Movin’ Out, New York State of Mind, Only The Good Die Young, An Innocent Man and You May be Right.  These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.  In the event of questionable weather, call the East Windsor Information Hotline at (609) 443-4000, ext. 400 after 1 P.M. the day of the event.
  9. East Windsor Township Invites Proposals for Art Installation at the Route 130 and Route 33 Gateway Intersection.  Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members are seeking concrete ideas to consider for the potential creation of a visible outdoor landmark on Township owned property at the southern Township intersection of Route 130 and Route 33.  Concept proposals should include installation of an original work of art that provides an attractive and memorable entry point into the Township, which is sufficiently sized to be visible to vehicle traffic on both Route 130 and Route 33, and is durable to last at least 10 years outdoors.  Proposals should be submitted to the Township Clerk's office by July 23, 2019.  Additional information is available on the Township website (CLICK HERE).
