  1. REMINDER:   Hightstown-East Windsor Memorial Day Parade Is Monday, May 29, and will kick-off at 9 am on Stockton Street and proceed through the center of Hightstown.  The annual community event will feature many local groups including veterans associations, rescue squads and fire companies, school musical groups, scout organizations, religious organizations and other area participants.  At the completion of the parade, refreshments will be served at VFW Post 5700 on Dutch Neck Road.
  2. Township Awards Contract for Roadway Improvements to Cypress Drive Between Spruce Road and Oak Creek Circle and Woodland Drive Between Oak Creek Road and Cypress Drive to low bidder, The Earle Companies, located in Farmingdale, New Jersey, in the amount of $365,213.  The roadway improvements will take approximately five weeks, weather permitting, and will include milling and resurfacing, as well as repairs to curbs, driveway aprons and handicapped ramps.  The roadway project is anticipated to begin in June.
  3. East Windsor Mayor and Council Continue Bicycle Helmet Giveaway Program "Use Your Head," whereby residents age 5 through 16 can receive a bicycle helmet, at no cost.  The final session will be held on Wednesday, June 7, from 4 pm to 7 pm, at the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard).  After viewing a brief 5 minute video on the importance of bicycle helmets and bicycle safety, participants will be measured and given a properly fitted bicycle helmet, along with safety literature.  This is the first of a two phase bicycle safety program running until August.

  4. East Windsor and Hightstown Mayors Co-Hosted Better Beginnings "Shining Star" Charity Gala, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Better Beginnings Child Development Center, and recognized the 2017 "Shining Star" honorees for their contributions to making our community better:   Jacqueline K. Bodin, Lifetime Achievement Award;  Ellen Ogintz, Individual Award;  Princeton Area Community Foundation, Organization Award;  CCL Label, Business Award, and The Peddie School - Better Beginnings Club, Youth Group Award.  The gala event is a charity fundraiser for Better Beginnings, a local child care development center, which began in 1967 and provides quality affordable pre-school, after school and summer programs to area children.

  5. Township Offices Will Be CLOSED Monday, May 29 for the Memorial Day Holiday.
  6. No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Township Holiday Monday, May 29.  Garbage Collection for Area #1 residents, normally on Monday, May 29, will be on the next scheduled collection date of Thursday, June 1.  (CLICK HERE) for public works schedules.
