March 19, 2020 CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE As of today, Thursday, March 19, 2020, 5 P.M., there have been NO confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in East Windsor. Township Officials continue to work closely with state and federal health officials in monitoring the spread of this virus and responding as circumstances should warrant. While this virus poses the greatest risk to older people and those with underlying health conditions, everyone in our community shares responsibility to take precautions and help minimize the risks of the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). During these difficult times, we appreciate everyone's support and assistance in practicing social distancing, checking in on at risk neighbors and seniors, and supporting our local businesses as we can. Today, Thursday, March 19, Mayor Janice S. Mironov issued a DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY IN EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP to insure that Township Officials will be able to maximize efforts to ensure continuation of all essential governmental operations and to best and fully protect the persons and property of our residents, and be authorized to promulgate such needed orders, rules and regulations as are necessary to address any contingencies which may arise and to meet these goals. * * * * * * * * * PRIOR UPDATES * * * * * * * * * New Jersey Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 104 on March 16, 2020, which remains in effect and sets forth the following "social distancing measures to mitigate further spread of COVID-19": - All gatherings of persons shall be limited to 50 persons or fewer, with limited exceptions;
- All public, private, and parochial preschool programs, and elementary and secondary schools, including charter and renaissance schools are CLOSED;
- Institutions of higher education will cease all in-person instruction beginning on Wednesday, March 18, 2020;
- All casinos, concert venues, nightclubs, racetracks, gyms, fitness centers and classes, movie theaters, and performing arts centers are CLOSED to the public;
- All other non-essential retail, recreational, and entertainment businesses must cease daily operations from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m., and
- All restaurant establishments, with or without a liquor or limited brewery license, are limited to offering delivery and/or take out-services only.
The Township previously instituted the following to reduce potential exposure to our residents and employees: - EAST WINDSOR MUNICIPAL BUILDING REMAINS OPEN, but some temporary steps are being implemented.
- Residents are strongly encouraged to conduct business with the Township by telephone, email, and regular mail whenever possible. The Township main phone number is (609) 443-4000 and the website is www.east-windsor.nj.us.
- Visitors to the Municipal Building must stop at the front desk and explain the purpose of the visit, and will be assisted from there.
- EAST WINDSOR MUNICIPAL COURT SESSIONS ARE CANCELLED FOR MONDAY, MARCH 16 AND MONDAY MARCH 23. For questions regarding municipal court matters, call the court directly at (609) 448-3228.
- ALL EAST WINDSOR SENIOR CENTER ACTIVITIES, PROGRAMS AND TRIPS ARE SUSPENDED.
- The Mercer County Nutrition Program has resumed modified service providing boxed lunches for curbside at the Senior Center only. Questions regarding the Nutrition Program should be directed to Mercer County at (609) 989-6650.
- The Senior Center remains open and staffed Monday through Friday with revised hours of 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
- All non-essential Township advisory Board and Committee meetings have been CANCELLED through March 31.

- East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) remains fully operative, however the EWMUA Administrative Building, located at 7 Wiltshire Drive, is closed to the public. Residents can conduct business with the EWMUA by telephone, email, and regular mail. A drop box is located to the left of the front door for general mail and sewer/water payments.
