  1. REMINDER:   Join East Windsor Officials to Support and Participate in Womanspace "Communities of Light" Scheduled for Monday, December 4.  Residents are encouraged to support the event by purchasing candles and gathering with local elected officials and police on Monday, December 4, at 5 pm to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard), followed by refreshments.  Citizens can participate by purchasing luminary kits, containing six candles, for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road), or at the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and bringing luminary kits to the event.  Any checks of support can be made payable to Womanspace, Inc. and mailed or dropped off at the Municipal Building.  All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals affected by domestic violence and dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families.  For further information, call (609) 448-5678, ext. 231.


    Communities of Light luminary kits, with six candles, are available at the East Windsor Township Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) and East Windsor Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) for $10.  East Windsor officials and citizens will assemble on December 4 at 5 pm to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building, as a beacon of hope for the victims of domestic violence and their families.  All of the proceeds for the luminary sales go to support Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals affected by domestic violence and dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families.
  2. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees.  Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  Residents interested in volunteering can obtain an application form from the municipal clerk or can fill out this form (CLICK HERE) and return by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303, or by mail to Mayor Janice S.   3. East Windsor Will Offer New On-line Tax Payment Option Effective January 2, 2018.  The new online tax payment option available at the Township website will enable residents and businesses to pay their property taxes online by e-check or debit or credit card, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Payments are subject to a convenience fee of $1.05 for e-check payments, $3.95 for VISA debit card payments, and 2.95% for all other credit or debit card payments.  This service also allows a taxpayer online access to the current year's tax bill as well as their tax account history for the prior three years.  For more information, contact the Tax Office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 231.
  4. Mercer County Opens First Four Dedicated Pickelball Courts at the Tennis Center in Mercer County Park.  At the request and urging of Mayor Janice S. Mironov and East Windsor Council Members, Mercer County has installed and opened four new pickleball courts located at the Tennis Center in Mercer County Park.  Mayor Mironov recently joined Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes and other officals for the ribbon cutting of the new pickleball courts.  Pickleball, which is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis, pingpong and badminton, is played with two, three or four players who use paddles to hit a perforated ball, like a Wiffle Ball, over a net.  The first team to score 11 points, with a lead of at lest two points wins.  For information about Mercer County fees and passes to use the courts, click HERE.

  5. East Windsor Awarded $5,500 "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" 2017 Year-End Holiday Crackdown Enforcement Grant.  The grant, received from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, is to underwrite salaries of police officers for added enforcment activities directed at the detection and apprehension of intoxicated drivers.  The program, which runs from December 8 through January 1, is a statewide campaign aimed at improving public safety by encouraging responsible driving during the 2017 year-end holiday season.
  6. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:   Volunteer Opportunity in Television Broadcasting Available.  If you are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live, local television program, opportunities are available to work with the award winning "Spotlight East Windsor" program, one hour every other Wednesday night, at the East Windsor Municipal Building.  Volunteers will learn camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operation and much more.  Interested individuals should contact the Municipal Clerk’s office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 237 and provide your name and contact information.  For technical information, contact Dick Cunningham at (609) 443-1199.
  7. Township Recreation Department Offers Trip to New Jersey Devils vs Dallas Stars Hockey Game on Friday, December 15, at 4:30 pm at the Prudential Center in Newark.  This is the Devil's 35th Anniversary Celebration game, and attendees will each receive a Devils group gift bag to commemorate the event.  The bus will depart the Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) at 4:30 pm.  The fee is $75 per person, including transportation and an entrance ticket for seating in Section 126.  Attendees 15 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register. 
  8. East Windsor Recreation Department Offers Trip to "Six Flags, Holiday in the Park" on Sunday, December 17, at 2 pm.  Experience "millions of glittering lights, dazzling holiday entertainment, Santa's Village and many of its popular rides magically transformed into a winter wonderland."  The fee is $40 per person, including transportation.  Attendees 15 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult.  The bus will depart from the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) at 2 pm and return at 8:30 pm.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register. 
  9. Final Township Fall Leaf Collection Passes Began Monday, November 27.  Leaf Collection for Area #1 residents will began on Monday, November 27 and end Saturday, December 2.  Collection for Area #2 residents will begin on Monday, December 4 and end Saturday, December 9, weather permitting.  Additional full passes will be made throughout the Township, beginning Monday, December 11 and concluding Friday, December 22.  Leaves may not be put out after Monday, December 18, to allow crews to finish the final pass by December 23.  For public works schedules (CLICK HERE).
