East Windsor Township E-News Alert! |
May 3, 2020 CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
MESSAGE FROM MAYOR JANICE MIRONOV
To our blessed dedicated first responders continuing to protecting us -- our police, our rescue squad and fire company volunteers. We couldn't do it without you! To our many East Windsor Residents who continue to step up and make contributions of financial support toward local food distribution, and supplies and equipment to our Township to support our First Responders, and those who in so many other ways reach out to help residents in need during this time of unprecedented challenge. Resident support of our local businesses is appreciated. This all shows the great community that East Windsor Township is, a strong caring community with a heart. To the Health Care Workers of all of our area hospitals and health care facilities, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/RWJ Barnabas Health, which has been a great partner to East Windsor, Robbinsville and Hamilton. To our many supportive East Windsor Businesses who continue to generously contribute key supplies and equipment for Township personnel and First Responders, including: Hovione and Shiseido. Shout outs also to BAPS, Congregation Anshei Roosevelt, as well as Harborview Foundation, United Chinese Americans, Central Jersey Chinese American Association, Huaxia Chinese Schools at Plainsboro and Windsor Athletic Club. To Greenhill Pharmacy in East Windsor who has partnered with the Township of East Windsor and the Township of Robbinsville to provide hand sanitizer to any and all residents at no charge. Greenhill Pharmacy has compounded batches of hand sanitizer solution to provide to residents. To obtain hand sanitizer, fill out this google form with your request. If you are unable to come out, Greenhill Pharmacy will arrange delivery to your doorstep at no cost. We appreciate the generosity and caring of so many Township businesses and residents who have come forward with donations and to volunteer to help out others. Remember our local businesses and restaurants who much need our support. The Township continues to be here to provide important services and to help you. Our great community spirit has helped sustain all of us. Keep strong and be hopeful, knowing that together we will move through these painful and challenging times. Positive COVID-19 cases do continue to increase in Mercer County and the State of New Jersey. On a positive and hopeful community note, as of Saturday, May 2, 2020, a total of 311 East Windsor resident cases have recovered. So it is even more important to continue this progress by practicing social distancing, following the advice and directives of health care professionals and government officials, and using good sense, so we can all get through this difficult period together. We need to remember that the most effective and most caring responsible thing we can continue to do for ourselves, our loved ones and our entire community is to continue to do what we are doing. Mercer County has reported, as of May 3, 2020, there have been 233 new cases for a total of 4,504 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases to date, and 2 additional deaths for a total of 255 deaths in Mercer County. All active cases are either at home self-isolating or admitted to the hospital. The State of New Jersey today reported 3,027 additional Confirmed COVID-19 Cases for a current total of 126,744 cases, and 129 additional deaths for a total of 7,871 COVID-19 related deaths statewide.
