June 30, 2020 CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
Mercer County has reported, as of June 30, 2020, there have been 25 new cases for a total of 7,659 confirmed COVID-19 Cases to date, and a total, sadly, of 539 deaths in Mercer County. All active cases are either at home self-isolating or admitted to the hospital. The State of New Jersey today reported 395 additional Confirmed COVID-19 Cases for a current total of 171,667 cases, and 43 additional deaths for a total of 13,181 COVID-19 related deaths statewide. It is important that everyone continue practicing social distancing, following the advice and directives of health care professionals and government officials, and using good sense, so we can all get through this difficult period together. MERCER COUNTY UPDATES Mercer County Community College James Kerney Campus will host its first-ever virtual EMPLOYMENT TRAINING FAIR on Wednesday, July 1 from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. The event will be presented via Zoom, and is free of charge, however, advance registration is required. The Trenton Community Resources for Employment Fair will provide learning sessions and subsequent employment opportunities for individuals seeking preferential consideration for upcoming open positions from local employers in the Trenton area. STATE OF NEW JERSEY UPDATES Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 158 (CLICK HERE) on June 29, temporarily pausing the resumption of indoor dining, which had been scheduled to resume on July 2. The Order also prohibits the consumption of food or beverages and smoking in the indoor premises of any retail, recreational, or entertainment business, including casinos, where masks are strictly required. The New Jersey Department of Health issued an updated Executive Directive (CLICK HERE) for food and beverage establishments, which will continue to be restricted to in-person service at outdoor areas only.
