October 2, 2020 - REMINDER: East Windsor Township Will Hold Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, October 3 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). NO OTHER DROP-OFFS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT. This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household. Electronics Recycling is limited to only televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, cell phones, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. All drop off shall be "Contact-less" and residents must remain in their vehicles at all times. Trained staff wearing masks and gloves will remove items from the trunk and rear seat of the vehicle. - Last Day to Register to Vote in the November 3 General Election is Tuesday, October 13. Voter registration can be done online at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register. Voter registration forms can be obtained online at https://nj.gov/state/elections/voter-registration.shtml#vrf or in the main entrance foyer of the Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard). - November 3 General Election Will Be Conducted Primarily by Vote By Mail Ballots, in accordance with Governor Murphy's Executive Order No. 177 (CLICK HERE). Vote By Mail Ballots (VBM) have been sent automatically to all registered voters without the need for an application. Voters can return the completed VBM ballot by mail in the pre-paid envelope or place it in the drop box in front of the East Windsor Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) up to 8 P.M. on Election Day. Voters also can return the VBM Ballot to their polling location on Election Day. Voters who choose to vote in person on Election Day will vote by provisional paper ballot. Districts 12, 15, and 16: Perry L. Drew School, Gym, 70 Twin Rivers Drive North - Mercer County Holds Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, October 17 from 9 A.M. to 12 Noon, rain or shine, in Parking Lot 4 across the street from 640 South Broad Street (Mercer County Administration Building), Trenton. Residents may bring up to eight boxes or bags of paper; no commercial businesses are permitted. Proof of residency such as a driver's license is required. - East Windsor Will Hold Free Rabies Clinics for dog and cat owners on Saturday, November 7 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 at 51 One Mile Road and on Saturday, November 14 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 at 69 Twin Rivers Drive. Owners will be required to show a certificate of previous rabies vaccination to receive a vaccination of three year duration; otherwise vaccinations of one year duration only will be provided. For safety, all animals must be properly restrained by leash or carried. All persons attending the rabies clinic will only be permitted access if their mouth and nose are covered at all times with a mask or cloth covering and they must maintain a minimum of six feet separation from other attendees. - The Mercer County Library System Will Be Reopening October 5 to In-Person Visits, limited to 25 persons or 25% of the building occupancy, whichever is less, in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order. The East Windsor branches, the Hickory Corner Branch at 138 Hickory Corner Road and the Twin Rivers Branch at 276 Abbington Drive, will be open to the public at the following times:
- Mondays: 10 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. (10 A.M. to 11 A.M. for individuals over 65 years old and those who are immunocompromised, 11 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. for the general public)
- Wednesdays: 1 P.M. to 7 P.M.
- Fridays: 10 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. (10 A.M. to 11 A.M. for individuals over 65 years old and those who are immunocompromised, 11 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. for the general public)
- Saturdays: 2 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Contactless Curbside pick-up hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Saturdays, 10 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Computer use will be limited to one hour increments and requires calling and making a reservation. Library visitors are required to wear face masks that cover nose and mouth, as well as adhere to social distancing guidelines. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, October 12, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, October 15.
