  1. REMINDER: No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 and All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Garbage Collection for Area #1 residents, normally, on Thursday, November 26, will be on the next scheduled collection day of Monday, November 30. Garbage Collection for Area #2 residents, normally on Friday, November 27, will be on the next scheduled collection date of Tuesday, December 1.   2. East Windsor Mayor Mironov and Council Members Break Ground on Construction of Senior Center Expansion. The expansion project will add significant space of about 5,000 square feet to the rear of the building and another 785 square feet to the north side of the building, to the existing 11,000 square foot building to accommodate the extensive growth in the senior center membership. The additional space and its designated locations is intended to maximize use of the current site and to provide flexibility in space configuration, to best accommodate and enhance access to the full-range of health, fitness, social and educational programs and activities offered at the Senior Center. The construction work was awarded to low bidder, Develop Builders of New Milford, New Jersey. The senior center expansion will be supported in part by grant awards from Mercer at Play grant and the NJ Small Cities Community Development Block Grant program. Construction work will continue into 2021.

  3. East Windsor Mayor Mironov and Council Members Encourage Residents and Businesses to Support Womanspace "Communities of Light" on Monday, December 7, by purchasing candles to light up the streets of East Windsor as a powerful symbol of hope for men, women and children impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Citizens can participate by purchasing luminary kits, containing six candles each, for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Municipal Court/Police Building (80 One Mile Road) and placing them on their porch or in front of their homes or businesses at 5 P.M. on Monday, December 7. Alternatively, residents can purchase the candle kits, and drop them off at the Municipal Court/Police Building or Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard), and they will be used to light up the Municipal Building on Monday, December 7. All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking.     Purchase "Communities of Light" luminary kits of 6 candles for $10, at the Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) to raise funds for Womanspace, and to participate as a community on Monday, December 7 at 5 P.M. to light up the Municipal Building and the streets of East Windsor, as a beacon of hope for the victims and families of domestic violence and human trafficking.

  4. Applications for "The Property Tax Freeze" for Seniors Deadline Extended to December 31, 2020. Homeowners who were 65 or older or 100% disabled in 2018 and received Federal Social Security Disability benefits may be eligible for this program that establishes a base year for property taxes and reimburses the homeowner for any increase in the future tax years. To qualify, a senior must live in New Jersey continuously for at least 10 years, owned or lived in his/her home or mobile home for at least the last 3 years, paid the full amount of property taxes or site fees due for the base year and each succeeding year for which the reimbursement is claimed, and had gross income for 2019 of $91,505 or less and for 2018 of $89,013 or less.
