  1. REMINDER: East Windsor Mayor and Council Encourage Residents and Businesses to Support Womanspace "Communities of Light" on Monday, December 7, by purchasing candles to light up the streets of East Windsor as a powerful symbol of hope for men, women and children impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Citizens can participate by purchasing luminary kits, containing six candles each, for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Municipal Court/Police Building (80 One Mile Road) and placing them on their porch or in front of their homes or businesses at 5 P.M. on Monday, December 7. Alternatively, residents can purchase the candle kits, and drop them off at the Municipal Court/Police Building or Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard), and they will be used to light up the Municipal Building on Monday, December 7. All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking.     Purchase "Communities of Light" luminary kits of 6 candles for $10, at the Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) to raise funds for Womanspace, and to participate as a community on Monday, December 7 at 5 P.M. to light up the Municipal Building and the streets of East Windsor, as a beacon of hope for the victims and families of domestic violence and human trafficking.

  2. NOTE: East Windsor Makes Temporary Changes to Public Works Service Schedules Due to Staffing Health-Related Actions. REGULAR HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE will continue to be collected on the normal schedule; however, your patience is appreciated if your trash is not picked up by the end of the regular scheduled day, please leave it curbside and it will be picked up the following day. LEAF COLLECTION continues Township-wide, however, the previously published schedule has been impacted, but collections will continue until complete. WOOD CHIPPING SERVICES, normally available on the bulk trash collection days will NOT be available through December 31, 2020. There are NO CHANGES to other collections services, specifically: RECYCLING CURBSIDE COLLECTION, BULK TRASH COLLECTION, and WHITE GOODS, will continue as scheduled.   3. East Windsor Township Awarded $530,000 Grant from New Jersey Department of Transportation for Roadway Improvements. The grant, received from the NJDOT Fiscal Year 2021 Municipal Aid Program, will be used for improvements to Oak Branch Road, Pineybranch Road, Pinehurst Drive and Warren Drive. The $530,000 state grant includes the milling and resurfacing of these roadways, as well as other associated improvements to concrete curbing and aprons, handicap ramps, and drainage.
  4. East Windsor Awarded $6,000 "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" 2020 Year-End Holiday Crackdown Enforcement Grant. The grant, received from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, is to underwrite salaries of police officers for added enforcement activities directed at the detection and apprehension of intoxicated drivers. The program, which runs from December 4 through January 1, is a statewide campaign aimed at improving public safety by encouraging responsible driving during the 2020 year-end holiday season.
  5. IMPORTANT: Residents Are Encouraged to Register and Urge Other Residents to Register to Receive E-News Updates. E-News is used for alert communications in significant weather and service impacted situations, as well as generally weekly to provide information on new businesses and stores, roadway projects, grants, special events and other subjects of public interest.   6. Residents Are Encouraged to Register to Receive Nixle Communications System Alerts, implemented by Mayor and Council, to enable immediate text messages to registered cell phones and email addresses, to alert residents and businesses about safety and health subjects of concern, such as severe weather conditions, traffic disruption alerts, road closures, flooding conditions, power outages and important public health notices, as well as other significant community updates and important announcements. The Nixle communications tool will assist the Township in notifying large numbers of people in real time concerning conditions or issues affecting safety and travel issues. Residents are encouraged to register for the notifications by texting "08520" to the number 888-777 from their cell phone. Residents also can register online (CLICK HERE) to receive the notifications via email and/or mobile phone. IMPORTANT NOTE: Regardless of your zip code, you must register under the zip code 08520 to receive East Windsor related Nixle alerts.
