  1. REMINDER: Hightstown-East Windsor Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 28, and will kick-off at 9 am on Stockton Street and proceed through the center of Hightstown. The annual community event will feature many local groups including veterans associations, rescue squads and fire companies, school musical groups, scout organizations, religious organizations, and other area participants. At the completion of the parade, refreshments will be served at VFW Post 5700 on Dutch Neck Road.
  2. Five Guys Opens in Newly Constructed The Shoppes at East Windsor on Route 130 South. The 1,380 square foot dine-in and take out restaurant, which specializes in fresh made hamburgers, fries, shakes, hot dogs, and sandwiches, opened its doors in East Windsor on May 21. The national chain, which started with a single location in Washington DC in 1986, began franchising in 2003 and now has over 1,450 locations worldwide. Current hours of operation at the East Windsor location are: 11 am to 10 pm, seven days a week. For more information, visit www.fiveguys.com.

  3. Township Awards Contract for Roadway Improvements to Brooktree Road from Oak Creek Road to Dutch Neck Road and Wiltshire Drive from Dutch Neck Road to Dorchester Drive to low bidder Richard T. Barrett Paving Company of Trenton, NJ. The roadway improvements, funded by a New Jersey Department of Transportation $335,000 grant, will include resurfacing, as well as other associated improvements to curbing, aprons and handicap ramps. The work will be performed over this summer.
  4. 2018 "Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer" Awarded to Fay Fisch by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and the Township Commission on Aging. Fay Fisch, an East Windsor resident for 32 years, has been volunteering at the East Windsor Township Senior Center for the past 3-1/2 years. She dedicates over 30 hours a week to assisting the staff and members at the Senior Center, performing many diverse tasks including manning the front desk, welcoming and registering new members, chaperoning trips and conducting tours. Fay Fisch is described by Senior Center members as knowledgeable, caring, professional, diligent and dependable, and is highly regarded for always offering to help out when needed. The "Sylvia Weisss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer," presented annually by East Windsor Township, recognizes a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to the community by way of schools, religious institutions, service organizations or directly to the public. Sylvia Weiss was a former East Windsor Township Council Member, past Council senior citizen advisor and chairperson of the Commission on Aging, and was instrumental in the original formation of the senior citizen program.

  5. REMINDER: No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, May 28 and All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED due to the Memorial Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, May 28, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, May 31. Public works schedules can be viewed on the Township website, (CLICK HERE).
