1. REMINDER:   East Windsor Holds The Infernos Concert on Sunday, August 26 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park.  The Infernos, America's #1 Show Band and a premier live performance group, has been on the music scene since 1977.  The Infernos will perform four decades of music, from Barry White, Earth Wind and Fire and Sinatra to today's hot sounds of Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke and Taylor Swift.  The band will present many all-time favorites as Love Train, September, Your the First My Last, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, My Way, Luck Be a Lady, and many more.  All of the free summer concert and family night series is made possible by the generous donations of many area businesses.  If inclement weather, the program will be moved indoors to the East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School auditorium.  In the event of questionable weather, call the East Windsor Information Hotline at (609) 443-4000, ext. 400 after 1 P.M. the day of the event.
2. TAX BILL NOTICE:  Third Quarter Tax Payments Are Due No Later than September 10.  Per State regulations, there is no further grace period and interest will accrue back to August 1 on tax bills not paid by September 10.  Taxpayers can now view their tax bills on the Township website and can pay through the Township on-line system or can await the receipt of the mailed tax bills.  Any questions, contact the Tax Office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 231.
3. Improvements to Maple Stream Road between Brooktree Road and Oak Creek Road and Heathwood Drive between Maple Stream Road and Dutch Neck Road Are Ongoing with Milling and Paving Scheduled for Completion by the End of August.  The project is being performed by low bidder, S. Brothers, Inc. of South River, New Jersey.  Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 A.M. to 5 P.M
4. Improvements to Brooktree Road between Oak Creek Road and Dutch Neck Road and Wiltshire Road from Dutch Neck Road to Dorchester Drive Are Scheduled To Begin on or about Wednesday, August 29 with Concrete Repairs to Curbs, Aprons and Handicapped Ramps, followed by milling and paving.  The project, being performed by low bidder, Richard T. Barrett of Trenton, New Jersey, is funded by a New Jersey Department of Transportation grant of $335,000.  Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.
5. Ceremony for Anniversary of 9/11 Will Be Held on Tuesday, September 11, at 5:30 P.M. to remember and honor the anniversary of September 11.  The ceremony will take place at the existing 9/11 Memorial located on the grounds of the East Windsor Township Municipal Building, at 16 Lanning Boulevard.  The public is welcome to attend.
6. East Windsor Is Seeking Nominations for the 2018 Township Business Awards Program.  The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community.  The three categories of Township award recognition are:   (1) Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, for example, through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to their structures and site;  (2) Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and (3) Community Enhancement - providing some manner of community enhancement, for example, through extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity or any community value added aspect related to their business.  Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight.  Nomination forms are available at the Municipal Building and on-line at the Township website at (CLICK HERE).  The deadline for nominations is September 14.
7. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Volunteer Opportunity in Television Broadcasting Available.  If you are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live, local television program, opportunities are available to work with the award winning "Spotlight East Windsor" program, one hour every other Wednesday night, at the East Windsor Municipal Building.  Volunteers will learn camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operation and much more. Those interested should contact the Municipal Clerk’s office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 237 and leave your name and contact information.
8. Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, September 3 Due to the Labor Day Holiday.  Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, September 3, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, September 6.  Public works schedules can be viewed on the Township website at (CLICK HERE).
9. Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program, Sponsored by East Windsor Township and Funded by $7,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Concludes on Thursday, September 13, from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the East Windsor Police/Court Building, 80 One Mile Road.  The 2018 Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law.  Interested residents, at no cost, can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws.
