- Starbucks Café Opens Inside Target Department Store in the East Windsor Village on Princeton Hightstown Road, just west of Route 130. Starbucks, with more than 28,000 locations worldwide, is known for freshly brewed coffee, espresso and other specialty hot and cold beverages. The new full-service Starbucks café, with a staff of ten, also serves breakfast sandwiches, lunch wraps and a variety of baked goods. Starbucks is open daily from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M.

- ALERT: Mercer County Is Performing Work for the Township on Millstone Road from Old Trenton Road to the Millstone River Bridge at the Cranbury Township Border. During the milling and paving work, the roadway will be CLOSED to through traffic, and detours will be signed. Millstone Road will remain open for local traffic only. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 A.M.to 3 P.M. Construction is expected to be completed by November 1, weather dependent.
- Deadlines to Apply to Vote By Mail in the Tuesday, November 6 General Election are Tuesday, October 30 when submitting your application by mail and Monday, November 5 by 3 P.M. when submitting your application in person. Vote By Mail application forms can be obtained online at www.njelections.org. Questions can be directed to the municipal clerk's office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 240.
- REMINDER: East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, October 27 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.
- East Windsor Will Hold Free Rabies Clinics for dog and cat owners on Saturday, November 3 from 1 P.M to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (51 One Mile Road) and on Saturday, November 10 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 (69 Twin Rivers Drive). Owners will be required to show a certificate of previous rabies vaccination to receive a vaccination valid for three years; otherwise vaccinations of only one year duration will be provided. - East Windsor Honors Firefighters of the Year Jack Israel and Josh Pohl for their dedicated volunteer fire company service. Jack Israel of East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and Josh Pohl of East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 were presented with proclamations from Mayor Janice Mironov in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week. Jack Israel joined East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 in November 2011 as a Fire Police Officer, and quickly ascended into key leadership roles serving as Assistant Treasurer, Trustee, Fire Police Lieutenant and President since 2015. Jack Israel demonstrated extraordinary commitment in 2017, responding to 443 calls, attending 28 training drills and 18 work details, and serving as an apparatus driver, ensuring the fire truck and members arrive to calls safely. Jack also has served on numerous company committees including the Membership Committee, Fire Prevention Committee, Dinner Dance Committee, Truck Committee and Awards Committee. In addition, he is a Life Member and served as corresponding secretary of the Mercer County Fire Police Association and is a Life Member of the Mercer County Fireman’s Association. President Jack Israel 's tireless efforts in all aspects of his community service have contributed enormously to the success of the fire company. Josh Pohl joined East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 in December 2014, and has assisted in numerous company events such as open houses and fire prevention programs at the local schools. A lifelong East Windsor Township resident, Josh has actively pursued improved firefighting skills and educational advancement through special emergency response training classes, including Incident Response to Terrorism, Confined Space Awareness, Incident Command Series 100 and 200, Pump Operations, Driver's Training, and Hazardous Materials Operations. Since joining the fire company in December 2014, Josh has responded to over 304 fire calls and numerous training drills including 127 calls during 2017. Josh Pohl, even while enrolled as a fulltime student at Arcadia University out of town, has continued to demonstrate a strong and admirable commitment to participate and respond to needs of the fire company. Thank you to all of our great fire company volunteers!

- NOTE CHANGE OF DATE: East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 Halloween Party Is Postponed to Sunday, October 28, from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M., due to anticipated inclement weather conditions. The event at the fire station (69 Twin Rivers Drive) will include fire truck rides, hay rides, Sparky the Fire Dog, arts and crafts, games, hot dogs and snacks, D.J. and dancing. - Mercer County Holds Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, November 3 from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at Lot 4, South Broad Street, Trenton (across from county administration building at 640 South Broad Street). Residents may bring up to eight boxes or bags of paper; no household chemicals and no commercial businesses are permitted. Proof of residency such as a driver's license is required. - ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Volunteer Opportunity in Television Broadcasting Available. If you are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live, local television program, opportunities are available to work with the award winning "Spotlight East Windsor" program, one hour every other Wednesday night, at the East Windsor Municipal Building. Volunteers will learn camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operation and much more. The bus will depart the Municipal Building parking lot (16 Lanning Boulevard) at 5 P.M.
