  1. REMINDER: All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, May 31 due to the Memorial Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, May 31, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, June 3.   2. ALERT: Mercer County Roadway Resurfacing Project Continues on Princeton-Hightstown Road (County Road 571) from One Mile Road to Route 130. Milling and paving will be completed on one-half of the roadway at a time while maintaining one lane in each direction at all times on the other half of the roadway. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 A.M.to 3:30 P.M. Mercer County expects all roadway work to be completed by Monday, June 7, weather permitting.
  3. Innovation Park Breaks Ground on Construction of State of the Art Business Facility on Princeton-Hightstown Road (County Road 571) Just West of One Mile Road. The project, known as "Innovation Park" and developed by Trammel Crow Company, consists of two buildings, one at 406,669 square feet and another at 167,500 square feet, on the 86.97 acre parcel, formerly occupied by McGraw-Hill. The modern business campus was designed specifically for innovative high-tech and pharma-related tenants, featuring modern attractive architectural features, internal space configured specifically for advanced technological users with a high percentage of office space, outdoor public space with walking paths and benches, and substantial berming with extensive planting of deciduous, ornamental and evergreen trees.

  4. East Windsor Township 2019 and 2020 Business Awards Presented to Diversified Rack and Shelving, Inc. and Windsor Castle Apartments (2019), and One Mile Self Storage, Novitium Pharma, Kyle Family Farm and Greenhill Pharmacy (2020). The purpose of the annual awards program is to recognize local businesses that have made special efforts to improve or contribute to the community.

    Mayor Janice S. Mironov presents 2019 and 2020 Business Awards to the following East Windsor Businesses: Diversified Rack and Shelving, Inc. and Windsor Castle Apartments (2019 Business Award Recipients), and One Mile Storage, Novitium Pharma, Kyle Family Farm, and Greenhill Pharmacy (2020 Business Award Recipients).

    Diversified Rack and Shelving, Inc., located on Route 130 North, was recognized for “Special Community Contributions Green and Sustainable Business” and the award was accepted by President David Longo. Diversified Rack and Shelving, a 40,000 square foot family run business, has been supplying industrial racks and shelving of all sizes and configurations since 1990. They are one of the largest suppliers of used racks and shelving on the East Coast, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly option to their customers by recycling and reusing items. Diversified Rack and Shelving also has a long history of community support, as a contributor and sponsor for local youth sports teams, for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) as well as donating equipment and goods to RISE and other food banks.

    Windsor Castle Apartments, located on Dorchester Drive, was recognized for "Special and Unique Community Contributions and Service", and the award was accepted by owner Eli Kramer. Windsor Castle Apartments, a 248 unit multifamily residential complex, partnered with East Windsor on an innovative beneficial community program to transform 28 existing units to create affordable housing opportunities dispersed throughout the existing complex. The complex was substantially improved with building upgrades, a new clubhouse with an office, laundry and exercise facilities, a new storage building, a landscaped patio area, resulting in a modernized more attractive streetscape look.

    One Mile Self Storage, located on One Mile Road just north of Princeton Hightstown Road, was recognized for "Special and Unique Design and Appearance Contributions", and the award was accepted by owners Mike McCloskey and Jim Lombardo. One Mile Self Storage, a 77,268 square foot enclosed self-storage facility offering a variety of storage unit types, was configured to fit on a narrow challenging lot and developed with a distinct architectural design to mirror the look of a local farm with a large barn style building and accessory structures to blend in with the surrounding properties.

    Novitium Pharma, located on Lake Drive, was recognized for "Special Community Enhancement Contributions", and the award was accepted by CEO Chad Gassert. Novitium Pharma, established in 2016 which relocated their operations to a 53,723 square foot facility in East Windsor within their first year, is a pharmaceutical company specializing in development, manufacturing and distribution of generic forms of pharmaceutical products. In September 2020, they occupied additional local space and expanded their facility by 17,760 square feet to accommodate the installation of innovative pharmaceutical testing equipment to allow for the development of new medications and products, underscoring the key mission of pharma companies during the health emergency. Novitium Pharma also generously donated protective personal supplies for Township employee and first responder use during the pandemic and has donated to local organizations.

    Kyle Family Farm, located on Windsor Perrineville Road, was recognized for "Special Community Enhancement Contributions", and the award was accepted by owner Sharon Kyle. Kyle Family Farm, a well-known 77 acre family owned farm established in 1998, and a former 2013 Township Business Award recipient, is known for their farm market, fresh produce, bakery items, and creative popular community events. During the pandemic, the Kyles early on saw the need for a new community service and initiated an online ordering and drive-thru service for contactless food pickup for locally grown produce and flowers, then added a "Farm to Porch" delivery option for those not wishing to leave their homes.

    Greenhill Pharmacy, located on Hickory Corner Road in the Wawa Center, was recognized for "Special Community Contributions and Service," and the award was accepted by owners Harshav Raval and Jay Patel. Greenhill Pharmacy opened for business in 2018, establishing themselves as a neighborhood pharmacy offering personal service including creation of customized pill boxes to help their clientele following their prescription schedules and home delivery options. Greenhill partnered with East Windsor to offer drive-thru flu clinics in 2020 for senior citizens, gave away free hand sanitizer including by delivery to homes, and as a qualified Covid vaccine provider has reached out to the Township and community to offer partnerships and provide convenient local service to distribute vaccines. Both pharmacy owners Harshav Raval and Jay Patel are volunteer members of the Township Health Advisory Committee.
  5. East Windsor Township Awarded Additional $227,888 Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission Grant for Final Design and Engineering of Union Transportation Trail Extension. The project is a 3.5 mile-long extension, to run from the current terminus at the Mercer/Monmouth County line near the intersection of Old York Road and Sharon Road, through the southeastern portion of the Township, then crossing the NJ Turnpike in the area of Windsor Perrineville Road and ultimately connecting to Airport Road near Route 33. With this extension, the UTT trail system would run for over 12 miles to the Ocean County/Monmouth County line near Crosswicks Creek Park. This UTT project furthers an existing regional recreational project linking Mercer County to Monmouth County, Burlington County and Ocean County to extend a popular bicycling and hiking trail, as well as creating a valuable interconnect within East Windsor enabling bicycling and walking across a significant land segment in the southeast quadrant of the Township.
  6. East Windsor Child Passenger Car Seat Safety Inspection Program Funded by $6,000 New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Grant Kicks Off on Friday, June 4 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and runs through September at the Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road). The 2021 Child Passenger Car Seat Safety initiative is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child car seats as required by State law. Statistics of multiple organizations find that child car seats are improperly installed 80 percent of the time, but if installed correctly the risk of fatal injury is reduced by 71 percent. The FREE Child Passenger Car Seat safety inspections are offered for Township residents to promote child passenger safety. Participants will have their child seats inspected by a certified technician to ensure proper installation and will receive educational materials about state child restraint laws. No appointment is required. Other inspection dates are Wednesday, June 23, Monday, July 12, Tuesday, August 3, and Thursday, September 23 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M.
  7. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, June 5, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves will be accepted.   8. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open. Recreational day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 8. The 2021 camp format will be modified to adhere to Federal and New Jersey health and safety guidelines. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1 and will have 2 classes of 14 campers each per week. The Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2 through 8. Grades 2 and 3 will consist of 3 separate classes of 14 campers each per week, and grades 4, 5 and 6 will consist of 2 separate classes of 14 campers each per week. Traditional Travel camp will not operate in 2021, but campers entering grades 7 and 8 will have the option of attending Adventure Camp which will consist of 1 separate class of 14 campers each per week. Camp care for before and after care of campers will be available from 7 A.M. to 9 A.M. and 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. for an additional fee. Online registration and payment is available (CLICK HERE).
