  1. East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Sunday, July 4 (rain date July 11) at Etra Lake Park From 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. All area residents are invited to join us at Etra Lake Park at 5 P.M. to enjoy fun family and children activities including outdoor games, Independence Day craft making, Balloon artist, and a visit from “Uncle Sam”! LIVE interactive Magic Show begins at 5:30 P.M. on stage. Food Trucks will be on site with refreshments. The late afternoon Independence Day festivities will conclude with a LIVE performance at 6:30 P.M., Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound and patriotic favorites. Due to the only recent ending of the pandemic emergency restrictions and safety precautions, the fireworks display will not occur at this event. They are projected to take place around Labor Day.
  2. East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Wednesday, July 14 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). NO OTHER DROP-OFFS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT. This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household. Electronics Recycling is limited to only televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, cell phones, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. All drop-offs shall be "Contact-less" and residents must remain in their vehicles at all times. Trained staff wearing masks and gloves will remove items from the trunk and rear seat of the vehicle.   3. East Windsor Township Yoga in the Park Continues with another session on Wednesday, July 7. The Township Recreation Department in conjunction with the East Windsor Health Advisory Board is offering outdoor yoga sessions at Etra Lake Park. The 45 minute Yoga sessions will be led by a licensed Yoga Instructor on July 7, July 21, August 4, August 18, and September 1, weather permitting. All ages and levels welcome. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Advance registration fee of $8 per session is required. Online program registration and payment is available at (CLICK HERE).   4. Child Passenger Car Seat Safety Inspection Initiative, Funded by $6,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, continues through September. The FREE Child Passenger Car Seat safety inspections for Township residents, hosted by Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Members of Council and the police department, are to promote child passenger safety. Participants will have their child car seats inspected to ensure proper installation and will receive educational materials regarding current state child restraint laws. Sessions will be held at the Police/Court building, at 80 One Mile Road on Monday, July 12, Tuesday, August 3, and Thursday, September 23 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M.
  5. East Windsor Holds "Jersey Four" Tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Concert on Sunday, July 18 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. The Jersey Four will take you on a journey from the very beginning of The Four Seasons Number #1 Hits – Frankie Valli`s solo career –to present day Four Seasons shows. Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Rag Doll, Walk Like a Man and Who Loves You are just some of the many hits you will enjoy from their great collection of songs from those four guys from Jersey. These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.   6. Limited Spots Available For East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp. Recreational day camps, which run from June 28 through August 6, are offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 8. The 2021 camp format has been modified to adhere to Federal and New Jersey health and safety guidelines. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1 and will have 2 classes of 14 campers each per week. The Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2 through 8. Grades 2 and 3 will consist of 3 separate classes of 14 campers each per week, and grades 4, 5 and 6 will consist of 2 separate classes of 14 campers each per week. Traditional Travel camp will not operate in 2021, but campers entering grades 7 and 8 will have the option of attending Adventure Camp which will consist of 1 separate class of 14 campers each per week. Camp care for before and after care of campers will be available this year from 7 A.M. to 9 A.M. and 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. for an additional fee. Online registration and payment is available (CLICK HERE).   7. All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, July 5 due to the Independence Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, July 5, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, July 8.
