  1. REMINDER: Ceremony for 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Will Be Held on Saturday, September 11 at 10 A.M. to remember and honor the anniversary of September 11. The ceremony will take place at the existing 9/11 Memorial located on the grounds of the East Windsor Township Municipal Building, at 16 Lanning Boulevard. Participants will include the school district, clergy, veterans, police officers, fire company and rescue squad volunteers, scouts, and local officials. The public is welcome to join us, in ensuring "We Will Never Forget."
  2. Child Passenger Car Seat Safety Inspection Initiative, Funded by $6,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Will Hold Final Session on Thursday, September 23 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road). The FREE Child Passenger Car Seat safety inspections for Township residents, hosted by Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Members of Council and the police department, are to promote child passenger safety. Participants will have their child car seats inspected to ensure proper installation and will receive educational materials regarding current state child restraint laws.
  3. East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, October 2 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). NO OTHER DROP-OFFS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT. This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household and until shred truck is full. Electronics Recycling is limited to only televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, cell phones, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. All drop-offs shall be "Contact-less" and residents must remain in their vehicles at all times. Trained staff wearing masks and gloves will remove items from the trunk and rear seat of the vehicle.   4. East Windsor Is Seeking Nominations for the 2021 Township Business Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community. The three categories of Township award recognition are: (1) Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, for example, through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to their structures and site; (2) Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and (3) Community Enhancement - providing some manner of community enhancement, for example, through extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity or any community value added aspect related to their business. Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight. Nomination forms are available at the Municipal Building and on-line at the Township website at (CLICK HERE). The deadline for nominations is September 17.
  5. Vote By Mail Applications for the November 2, 2021 Election Are Available from the Municipal Clerk’s office or on-line at the New Jersey Division of Elections website (CLICK HERE). College students attending school outside the area are urged to apply as soon as possible if they do not plan on returning home to vote in the election. Applications must be mailed and cannot be accepted by facsimile or email. Mailed applications must be received at least seven days prior to the election. Voters can also walk into the County Clerk's office in Trenton and apply until 3 P.M. the day before the election.   6. The Mercer County Library System Began Extended Hours on September 7. All Mercer County Library System branches (except for the Ewing Hollowbrook Branch) have extended their library hours, to:
    • Monday through Wednesday: 9:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M.
    • Thursday: 1 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
    • Friday and Saturday: 9:30 A.M. to 5 P.M.
    • Sunday: 12:30 P.M. to 5 P.M. (for East Windsor Hickory Corner Branch, and Lawrence, West Windsor branches only. All other branches are closed).
