  1. East Windsor Township Holds Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, October 2 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). NO OTHER DROP-OFFS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT. This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household. Electronics Recycling is limited to only televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, cell phones, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. All drop-offs shall be "Contact-less" and residents must remain in their vehicles at all times. Trained staff wearing masks and gloves will remove items from the trunk and rear seat of the vehicle.   2. East Windsor Offers Free Flu Clinics on Thursday, October 14 and Thursday, October 28, from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. The Flu Clinics will be drive-thru and face coverings are required. The flu vaccinations are by appointment only, by calling the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 222.
  3. Mercer County Holds Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, October 9 from 9 am to 12 pm, rain or shine, at Lot 4, South Broad Street, Trenton (across from county administration building at 641 South Broad Street). Residents may bring up to eight boxes or bags of paper; no household chemicals and no commercial businesses are permitted. Proof of residency such as a driver's license is required.   4. Last Day to Register to Vote in the November 2 General Election is Tuesday, October 12. Registration forms can be obtained online at www.njelections.org. Questions can be directed to the Municipal Clerk's office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 238.
  5. Vote By Mail Applications for the November 2, 2021 Election Were Mailed Last Week to All Registered Voters and Are Available from the Municipal Clerk’s office or on-line at the New Jersey Division of Elections website (CLICK HERE). Applications must be mailed and cannot be sent by facsimile or email. Mailed applications must be received at least seven days prior to the election. Voters can also walk into the County Clerk's office in Trenton and apply until 3 P.M. the day before the election.   6. New Jersey Homestead Rebate Application Deadline is Tuesday, November 30, 2021. The New Jersey Division of Taxation states the 2018 Homestead Benefit Application Packets were mailed on or about September 20. Homeowners must file applications either online or by phone. The online application is available at www.njtaxation.org, and the automated telephone filing system phone number is (877)658-2972, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Eligible homeowners must own and occupy their home as their principle residence on October 1, 2018 and have a 2018 gross income not more than $150,000 for disabled homeowners or those 65 or older as of December 31, 2018. Homeowners under 65 as of December 31, 2018 and not disabled must be permanent legal residents of New Jersey and have a 2018 gross income of under or not more than $75,000. The 2018 property taxes must be paid.
  7. SPECIAL NOTICE: Residents Selling Home Are Encouraged to Schedule Fire Inspection Several Weeks Ahead of Closing. In light of the active residential real estate market and requirements for fire inspections, East Windsor Township is experiencing a high volume of applications to the Bureau of Fire Protection. A person selling a home should allow 4 to 6 weeks in advance of closing to schedule the fire inspection as inspections are valid for only 60 days. A Fire Inspection Application Form along with detailed instructions is found HERE on Township website. The form can be dropped off or mailed with a check or money order for $50 payable to East Windsor Township.
