July 8, 2022 - REMINDER: East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Originally Scheduled for Saturday, July 2 Is Rescheduled to TOMORROW, SATURDAY, JULY 9 at Etra Lake Park. Free entertainment begins at 6 P.M. with the Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:45 P.M. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. The spectacular Fireworks Display will begin immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 P.M. Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park. There also will be vendors present selling refreshments. - REMINDER: East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Wednesday, July 13 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household, and until the shredding truck is full. Electronic recycling is limited to televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. Residents must remain in their vehicles at all times. - East Windsor Holds "Family Night in the Park" on Saturday, July 16 at 7 P.M. at Etra Lake Park Featuring a Large Screen Showing of the Movie "Encanto". Encanto is a fantasy comedy new release (2021) Disney computer-animated film; Colombian teenager Maribel Madrigal has to face the frustration of being the only member of her magical family without special powers. Prior to the start of the movie, there will be games, DJ music and dancing. These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses. - Vectornate USA Opens New Global Headquarters in East Windsor. Vectornate USA, a market-leading manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment and products brands, most notably MedSchenker and Vectorfog, has relocated their Global Headquarters from Mahwah to a 52,860 SF facility at 493 Old Trenton Road. Vectornate, founded in South Korea in 1991, is working towards producing medical diagnostic products made solely in the United States by bringing manufacturing from overseas to New Jersey, and thusfar has generated 20 local jobs with more to come. Products include medical equipment, water and air filters, appliance parts, pest control foggers and bait traps, water purifier dispensers and other various innovative tools. Lieutenant Thomas Meyer, hired in August 2006, has served in Uniform Services as a Field Training Officer and Secondary Officer-In-Charge, and in May 2013, was assigned as Detective in the Investigative Services Division. In August 2017, he was promoted to Sergeant, serving as Platoon Supervisor and Field Training Program Coordinator, then in January 2019, was assigned as Detective Sergeant and Investigative Services Supervisor. Lieutenant Meyer also has served as Public Information Officer, Humane Law Enforcement Officer, Municipal Counter Terrorism Coordinator and Internal Affairs Unit member. Lieutenant Meyer received a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. Lieutenant Meyer will be the interim Commander of Administrative Services. Sergeant Joseph Carabelli, hired in May 2011, has served in Uniform Services as a Field Training Officer, Secondary Officer in Charge and Primary Officer in Charge. In February 2020, he was assigned as a Detective in Investigative Services and has served as a part-time Instructor at the Mercer County Police Academy. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University and a Master's degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Sergeant Carabelli will be assigned as a Platoon Supervisor in Uniform Services.

The Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. Additional inspection sessions will take place on Tuesday, August 2 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor P.A.L. Complex (30 Airport Road) and on Friday, September 16 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road).
- East Windsor Holds "Wooden Ships Band" Tribute to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young Concert on Sunday, July 24 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. The Wooden Ships Band pays homage to the fantastic music of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. They faithfully reproduce the CSN songbook and together they will take you back in time to the era of the 1970's, during the Woodstock Festival. - Groups and Businesses Are Invited to Participate in "National Night Out" Set for Tuesday, August 2, from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the East Windsor P.A.L Complex, 30 Airport Road. This annual fun educational Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members in conjunction with Chief of Police James Geary, features crime watch information, emergency services equipment, music, booths and displays by area groups and businesses with information and giveaways supporting the National Night Out theme.
