October 28, 2022 - REMINDER: East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, October 29 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., a program offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.
- SPECIAL NOTICE: Early In-Person Voting Is Available from Saturday, October 29 through Sunday, November 6 at Seven Sites in Mercer County. Early Voting hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. and Sunday, 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. Voters can cast their ballot at any of the Mercer County seven early voting sites which are listed below:

- East Windsor Township Recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Kicks Off Township Participation in Womanspace "Communities of Light" Scheduled for Monday, December 5. Mayor Janice Mironov, joined by Womanspace Chief Operating Officer Susan Victor, proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month stating that, "the pro-active commitment by East Windsor Township through the Domestic Violence Victim Response Team and Womanspace, visibly demonstrates to our residents and surrounding municipalities that we are united in combatting domestic violence and that it is unacceptable to our entire community." Womanspace Communities of Light is geared to raise funds for Womanspace and to raise public awareness about the important subject of domestic violence in our communities and the availability of resources for victims. Citizens and businesses can participate and support Womanspace by purchasing candles and gathering with local elected officials and police on Monday, December 5 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building. Luminary kits, containing six candles each, can be purchased for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) and bringing the luminary kits to the event. All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals affected by domestic violence and dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families. Mayor Janice Mironov, and Council Members present Proclamation recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month -- October to Womanspace and kicks off East Windsor Township participation in the Womanspace "Communities of Light" event on Monday, December 5. Thereafter, storm drains will be upgraded, handicapped ramps will be repaired, and finally the roadway will be milled and paved. The project, awarded to low bidder Meco Inc. of Millstone Township, New Jersey, is supported by a New Jersey Department of Transportation $600,000 grant. Work is expected to be completed mid-November.
- East Windsor Will Hold Free Rabies Clinics for dog and cat owners on Saturday, November 5 from 1 P.M to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 at 51 One Mile Road and on Saturday, November 12 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 at 69 Twin Rivers Drive. Owners will be required to show a certificate of previous rabies vaccination to receive a vaccination of three year duration; otherwise vaccinations of one year duration only will be provided. - East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants during the hours between 9 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. on the following dates: This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use. - SPECIAL NOTICE from Environmental Commission: Residents Are Encouraged to Lookout for and Remove Spotted Lanternfly Egg Masses. The Spotted Lanternfly currently are laying their egg masses on tree trunks. They appear white in color and gradually turn a grey/brown color. Physical removal (scraping off tree bark) or safe treatment with 3% to 4% horticultural oil can be used to control the future spread of this pest which is destructive to crops and deciduous trees.
