1. LAST CALL: East Windsor Township and the NJ League of Municipalities Offer Scholarship Opportunities to Junior and Senior High School Students. Three $1,000 scholarships are being offered through the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition. This statewide scholarship competition centers on the theme "What My Municipal Government Does Best" and seeks to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer members of the community, while raising awareness of municipal government in general. The State League Scholarship Committee will select 15 finalists and 3 winners from the State. A full application package can be obtained from the Municipal Clerk's office at the municipal building (16 Lanning Boulevard) or by calling (609) 443-4000, ext. 238. All entries must be returned to the East Windsor Mayor's Office by Wednesday, March 8.
2. REMINDER: East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinic on Thursday, March 9 from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Appointments Are Required. 3. Free Gun Safety Locks Are Available to East Windsor Residents During March under Township Gun Safety Program. The Township is sponsoring this pro-active safety initiative to promote improved gun safety, as these gun locks if properly used can help keep guns out of the hands of children and prevent accidental deaths and injuries in the home. The gun locks are available at East Windsor at no cost through Project Child Safe, a national firearms safety program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Free gun safety locks can be obtained at the Township police/court building (80 One Mile Road) by contacting Detective Timothy Purpuri at (609) 448-5678, ext. 232.
4. East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaimed Boy Scouting Anniversary Week and recognized local Boy Scout Troop 59, Boy Scout Troop 5700, Boy Scout Troop 6284, and Cub Scout Pack 53. The Mayoral Proclamation, noting that the Boy Scouts of America were officially founded in 1910 and celebrating its 113th anniversary, praised Boy Scouting as a "youth program of character development, value-based programs and leadership training" and further stated "the Boy Scouts have continued to set an excellent example for all through their volunteerism, commitment to others, and dedication to bettering themselves and their communities." The Proclamation "expressed appreciation to and commended the outstanding work of our local Boy Scout organizations, their scout members, leaders and volunteers in our community."

5. East Windsor Encourages Community Groups to Participate in 2023 Township Adopt-A-Spot Program. Under this program, participating groups "adopt" a public property and keep it clean during the year. A placard is erected on the site indicating that it has been "adopted by" with the name of the group. The groups are expected to perform clean-up three times per month from April 1 through November 30. Adopt-A-Spot is a great program in not only ensuring public areas of our community are well-maintained, but also has been a wonderful educational tool for teaching young people social responsibility and community pride. 6. East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinics on Thursday, March 23 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at Twin Rivers Branch Library (276 Abbington Drive) and on Thursday, March 30 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at the Hickory Corner Branch Library (138 Hickory Corner Road). Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Vaccinations and Pfizer boosters will be available for children ages 5 and older. 7. East Windsor Recreation Department Is Accepting Applications for 2023 Summer Camp Positions. The positions include camp supervisors, camp counselors, before and after care camp staff, and (non-paying) counselors-in-training. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Township Recreation Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 214 or online at (CLICK HERE). Individuals 18 years and older will be subject to a background check. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.
