  1. East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, April 15 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household, and until the shredding truck is full. Electronic recycling is limited to televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. Residents will also be able to dispose of fluorescent bulbs and household batteries. East Windsor also is participating in the Trex’s Plastic Film Recycling Challenge. The types of plastic film which can be dropped off for recycling are: grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes, Ziploc and other reclosable food storage bags, cereal bags, case overwrap, salt bags, pallet wrap and stretch film, wood pellet bags and produce bags. For every 500 pounds collected over six months, Trex donates a bench to the community. RISE will have trucks on-site to collect clothing, shoes, blankets, housewares (plates, mugs and related items), working appliances, household electronics and usable furniture.   2. Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaimed March Women's History Month, joined by several area elected officials -- NJ State Senator Linda Greenstein, NJ State Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson, Mercer County Commissioner Lucylle Walter, Mercer County Commissioner Nina Melker, Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami-Covello and East Windsor Township Council Member Denise Daniels. Mayor Mironov acknowledged the many women who have served in so many spheres of our community and during our history, who have played a valuable role contributing to our communities. Each of the officials spoke about their experiences and thanked those who encouraged and mentored them, and the importance of annually recognizing Women's History Month, and continuing to cultivate and promote other women as future leaders. The Proclamation recognizes "the many accomplishments and substantial contributions of women over history to our civic, political and cultural life, and their extraordinary leadership and extensive work and commitment to the betterment of the lives of the citizens of East Windsor Township and the State of New Jersey".

  3. East Windsor Encourages Community Groups to Participate in 2023 Township Adopt-A-Spot Program. Under this program, participating groups "adopt" a public property and keep it clean during the year. A placard is erected on the site indicating that it has been "adopted by" with the name of the group. The groups are expected to perform clean-up three times per month from April 1 through November 30. Adopt-A-Spot is a great program in not only ensuring public areas of our community are well-maintained, but also has been a wonderful educational tool for teaching young people social responsibility and community pride.   4. East Windsor Proclaimed April "Alcohol Awareness Month" and Recognized East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School After Prom Committee. The Mayoral Proclamation stated, "the After Prom Committee provides for a safe and substance free evening of entertainment and activities for all high school seniors and their guests at no cost and has been providing the event for over 30 years and during those years there have been no alcohol or drug related incidents on prom night." Mayor Mironov and Council Members also presented a $1,100 grant check from the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse (EWMAPSA) to East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School After Prom Committee President, Ed Hirschman and Treasurer, Debbie Dorfman.

  5. Stream Cleanup Co-Sponsored by The Watershed Institute and East Windsor Township on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Etra Lake Park, Rain or Shine. Pre-registration is required (CLICK HERE). Masks are optional. Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and long sleeves and bring work gloves. Trash bags and alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer to best maintain distance between groups and staff.   6. East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, April 22 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible
    permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.
  7. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open for Township Residents. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 6. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2023 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9.
