1. REMINDER: Stream Cleanup Co-Sponsored by The Watershed Institute and East Windsor Township on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Etra Lake Park, Rain or Shine. Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and long sleeves and bring work gloves. Adults must accompany minors. 2. REMINDER: East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, April 22 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.
   
   
3. Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaimed April 17, 2023 Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust, known Internationally as Yom HaShoah. The Mayoral Proclamation states: "Between 1933 and 1945, more than six million of Europe's Jews, as well as others deemed "unworthy of life", were systematically murdered in the Holocaust," continuing "All peoples should remember these atrocities, should rededicate themselves to the principle of equal justice for all people and must remain eternally vigilant against all tyranny, recognizing that hatred and bigotry provide a breeding ground for tyranny to flourish, continuing "We recognize as Americans that each individual citizen is personally responsible for eternal vigilance against all tyranny and for speaking out against acts of brutality and oppression." The Proclamation concludes proclaiming You HaShoah, "in memory of the victims, survivors and their liberators, and in furtherance of the hopes that we, as a Township and as individual citizens, will strive to overcome prejudice, hatred and indifference through education, tolerance, vigilance and remembrance."
4. East Windsor Encourages Community Groups to Participate in 2023 Township Adopt-A-Spot Program. Under this program, participating groups "adopt" a public property and keep it clean during the year. A placard is erected on the site indicating that it has been "adopted by" with the name of the group. The groups are expected to perform clean-up three times per month from April 1 through November 30. Adopt-A-Spot is a great program in not only ensuring public areas of our community are well-maintained, but also has been a wonderful educational tool for teaching young people social responsibility and community pride. 5. East Windsor Promotes Township Memorial Tree Program During Arbor Day, which is celebrated on the last Friday of April. The Memorial Tree Program offers residents a unique opportunity to provide a living memorial to a deceased relative or friend or in remembrance or commemoration of a special person, group or event, by the planting of a tree in the Township Memorial Tree Grove located on the grounds of the East Windsor municipal building. The tree, including tree planting and accompanying granite marker with the name of the deceased person or event to be remembered, can be ordered through the Public Works Department. 6. East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinics on Thursday, April 27 from 4 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Hickory Corner Branch Library (138 Hickory Corner Road) and on Saturday, May 6 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at St Paul Lutheran Church (79 One Mile Road Ext). Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Vaccinations and Pfizer boosters will be available for children ages 5 and older. 7. East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinic on Thursday, May 4 and Thursday, June 8 from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Appointments Are Required. 8. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open for Township Residents. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 6. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2023 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. Camp Care for before and after care of campers is also available for an additional fee. Online registration and payment is available at (CLICK HERE). 9. PUBLIC NOTICE: East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants between the hours of 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. Monday through Friday on the following dates:
   • April 17 through April 21: Twin Rivers and Centex areas.
   • April 24 through April 28: Windsor Regency, Georgetown, Cranbury Manor, Stonegate and sections of Route 130.
   • May 1 through May 5: Hickory Acres, Brooktree area, Renaissance Estates, Princeton East, Oak Creek Estates, Riviera, neighborhoods along Dutch Neck Road, One Mile Road and sections of Route 130.
     This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use.
