June 2, 2023 - REMINDER: Early In-Person Voting Begins TODAY, Friday, June 2 through Sunday, June 4 at Seven Sites in Mercer County, Including East Windsor at the Hickory Corner Branch Library. Early Voting hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. and Sunday, 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. Voters can cast their ballot at any of the Mercer County early voting sites below:

- Mayor Janice Mironov and Council Members Issue Proclamation Recognizing National Gun Violence Awareness Day -- June 2, to Moms Demand Action, Mercer County. The Mayoral Proclamation notes that, "Americans are 26 times more likely to die by gun homicide than people in higher-income nations. New Jersey has the 44th highest rate of gun deaths in the United States with 475 gun deaths every year and a rate of 5.2 deaths per 100,000 people. We renew our commitment to reduce gun violence and encourage responsible gun ownership to help keep all of our citizens and children safer". Moms Demand Action, a grassroots organization dedicated to raising awareness about the impacts of gun violence and encouraging responsible gun ownership and use to keep families safe, is encouraging citizens to "Wear Orange" on June 2.

Community Action nationally is celebrating 59 years of innovation, impact, and providing results for Americans, including Rise's work in Central New Jersey to support those in need." RISE administers a variety of community programs and services providing social support and opportunities to individuals and families, including food distribution, thrift shop, workforce training and placement, health and wellness education, tutoring, and summer enrichment programs.

The NJDHTS 2023 "Click It or Ticket It" seat belt campaign is a statewide campaign aimed at increasing compliance with State law that requires the use of seat belts. These funds will be used to pay the salaries of Township police officers who will be assigned patrol activities directed toward the identification and ticketing of motorists who fail to use seat belts as required by State law.
- Reminder: East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinic on Thursday, June 8 from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Appointments Are Required. - East Windsor Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Initiative, Funded by $7,500 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Continues on Thursday, June 8, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Police/Municipal Court Building, and runs through September. The Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. Additional inspection sessions will take place as follows: at Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) on Monday, July 10 and Friday, September 22 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor PAL Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 1 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
- Mercer County Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, June 10, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellants, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, televisions, stereos, and microwaves will be accepted.
