  1. Reminder: East Windsor Holds "Yacht Rock Gold" Concert on Sunday, August 6 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. Yacht Rock Gold performs favorite hits from the late 1970's to early 1980's, celebrating the sounds of the Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins, Little River Band, Ambrosia, Boz Scaggs and more. These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.   2. Township Awards Roadway Reconstruction Contract for Remaining Brooktree Neighborhood Streets -- Edward Drive, Lynnfield Drive, Poplar Run and Portion of Maple Stream Road -- to Low Bidder Earle Asphalt Co., Wall, New Jersey. The tentative schedule is to begin the concrete work replacing existing deteriorated curbs, associated aprons and installation of handicap ramps in mid-September and completing all milling and resurfacing by the end of October, weather permitting.
  3. East Windsor Township Awarded New Jersey Department of Transportation $950,000 Grant for Roadway Improvements in Cranbury Manor -- to Greenbrook Drive, Hope Valley Drive, Marilyn Drive, Meadowview Drive and Oakridge Road (from Pinehurst to Greenbrook). The $950,000 state grant project includes roadway milling and resurfacing, as well as associated improvements to deteriorated concrete curbs and aprons, handicap ramps and updating stormwater inlets. The Township is in the process of retaining an engineer to comply with state requirements, and the roadway work is planned for 2024.
  4. East Windsor Township Celebrated "National Night Out" on Tuesday, August 1, attended by well over 2000 people. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members issued and presented to East Windsor Neighborhood Crime Watch volunteer members a Mayoral Proclamation stating, "National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and foremost send a strong message to criminals letting them know that the community and police have joined together in fighting crime." The event is held annually to demonstrate the commitment of East Windsor Township in promoting a cooperative partnership between police, local government and citizens to vigilance and crime prevention throughout the East Windsor community.

  5. Township Undertakes Repairs and Restoration of the Brooktree Pathway. The paved, multi-use path runs parallel to Hickory Corner Road and Brooktree Road, providing access to Anker Park and the library branch. Township crews have dug up and removed existing path segments that are in need of replacement and are resurfacing the pathway. Project completion is anticipated by the end of August, weather permitting.
  6. Jim Carl's Auto Body Repair Opens at 859 Route 130 North, Adjacent to the Pak Mail Retail Center.   7. East Windsor Holds "Tupelo Honey - A Van Morrison Celebration" Sunday, August 20 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. Tupelo Honey is a tribute to one of the finest songwriters and performers of a generation. Van Morrison has written some of the most iconic songs in popular music history. Tupelo Honey recreates these classics, which include Moon Dance, Brown Eyed Girl, Have I Told You Lately and more. These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.   8. ALERT: Improvements to Stockton Street Curb and Sidewalks Between Route130 and Oak Lane Continue. Stockton Street remains closed to through traffic on working days, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. This joint improvement project between East Windsor Township and Hightstown Borough includes the replacement of existing curbs and sidewalks, driveway aprons, handicapped ramps and the installation of new curbs and sidewalks on Stockton Street between Route 130 and Oak Lane. The project is anticipated to be completed no later than Labor Day.
  9. SPECIAL NOTICE ON TAX BILLS: Mailing of Third Quarter Tax Bills originally due August 1 remains DELAYED due to an unforeseen hold up with the adoption of the Mercer County budget, and the inability to certify a final tax rate. As the date that the County will issue the Certified Tax Rate cannot be anticipated, the Township will provide updated information when available.   10. SPECIAL NOTICE: Beech Tree Disease Alert: The Environmental Commission Shares Information to Raise Awareness of Beech Leaf Disease (BLD). Beech Leaf Disease, which could be even more damaging then the Spotted Lanternfly, may be caused by a type of nematode (worm) that eats buds and leaves off of the trees. This makes some leaves emerge with dark green parts that may turn yellow or brown. The disease has been found in 12 of New Jersey's 21 counties as of May 2023, including Mercer County. If you suspect BLD, contact the NJFS Forest Health Program or call (609) 292-2532.

    The lethal Beech Leaf Disease (BLD) may be caused or carried by a type of nematode (worm) that eats buds and leaves off the trees.
