September 1, 2023 - REMINDER: No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, September 4 and All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED due to the Labor Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, September 4, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, September 7. - East Windsor Is Holding Ceremony for 22nd Anniversary of 9/11 on Monday, September 11 at 5 P.M. to remember and honor the anniversary of September 11. The ceremony will take place at the existing 9/11 Memorial located on the grounds of the East Windsor Township Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard). Participants will include elected officials, clergy, police officers, fire company and rescue squad volunteers, school district, veterans and scouts. The public is encouraged to join us, in ensuring "We Will Never Forget."
- East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, September 30 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household, and until the shredding truck is full. Electronic recycling is limited to televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. Residents will also be able to dispose of fluorescent bulbs and household batteries. East Windsor also is participating in the Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge. The types of plastic film which can be dropped off for recycling are: grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes, Ziploc and other reclosable food storage bags, cereal bags, case overwrap, salt bags, pallet wrap and stretch film, wood pellet bags and produce bags. For every 500 pounds collected over six months, Trex donates a bench to the community. RISE will have trucks on-site to collect clothing, shoes, blankets, housewares (plates, mugs and related items), working appliances, household electronics and usable furniture. - Final Township Child Passenger Car Seat Safety Inspection Session Will Be Held on Friday, September 22 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Police/Court building at 80 One Mile Road, Funded by $ 7,500 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. The Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. The inspection takes approximately ten minutes, and no appointment is necessary.
- Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, September 23, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves will be accepted.
