  1. REMINDER: Stream Cleanup Co-Sponsored by The Watershed Institute and East Windsor Township on Saturday, April 20, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Etra Lake Park, Rain or Shine. Pre-registration is recommended (CLICK HERE). Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and long sleeves, and bring work gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Adults must accompany minors.   2. East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, April 27 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.

  3. LAST CALL: East Windsor Township Soliciting Nominations for Annual "Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer." The Award is to recognize a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to the community by way of the schools, religious institutions, service organizations or directly to the public. This service can be in leadership or in direct service. Nominees must be at least 60 years of age and residents of East Windsor. The award is named after Sylvia Weiss, a former East Windsor Township Council Member, past Council senior citizen advisor and chairperson of the Commission on Aging, who was instrumental in the original formation of the senior citizen program. Local individuals and organizations are encouraged to nominate a senior citizen for this honor. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, April 22.   4. Arbor Day Foundation Names East Windsor Tree City USA Community for 2023 for the Township's Commitment to Community Forestry. East Windsor Township, for the 24th year, has earned this national designation meeting the four standards set by the Arbor Day Foundation: having a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance. The program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
  5. East Windsor Promotes Township Memorial Tree Program During Arbor Day, which is celebrated on the last Friday of April. The Memorial Tree Program offers residents a unique opportunity to provide a living memorial to a deceased relative or friend or in remembrance or commemoration of a special person, group or event, by the planting of a tree in the Township Memorial Tree Grove located on the grounds of the East Windsor municipal building. The tree, including tree planting and accompanying granite marker with the name of the deceased person or event to be remembered, can be ordered through the Public Works Department.   6. Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program Funded by $7,500 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Launches on Friday, May 10 and will run through September. The Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. The events will take place at the East Windsor Police/Court building located at 80 One Mile Road on Friday, May 10, Thursday, June 6, Wednesday, July 10, and Monday, September 16 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor PAL Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 6 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M
  7. East Windsor Township Youth Police Academy Registration Is Now Open. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members present the Youth Police Academy, in which police officers and East Windsor Police Athletic League staff will partner to offer young residents the opportunity to interact with officers and gain an understanding of modern-day policing, and enhanced sense of community. The Academy will run from July 8 through 12, from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the police/court building (80 One Mile Road). Registration is open to East Windsor residents entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Spots are limited to 25 participants, who will be selected on a first come first serve basis. Students selected will be given an Academy hat and t-shirt.   9. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 9. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2024 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. PUBLIC NOTICE: East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants between the hours of 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. Monday through Friday on the following dates:
    • April 15 through April 19: Twin Rivers and Centex areas.
    • April 22 through April 26: Windsor Regency, Georgetown, Cranbury Manor, Stonegate and sections of Route 130.
    • April 29 through May 3: Hickory Acres, Brooktree area, Renaissance Estates, Princeton East, Oak Creek Estates, Riviera, neighborhoods along Dutch Neck Road, One Mile Road and sections of Route 130.
      This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use.
