June 28, 2024 - East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Saturday, July 6 (rain date Saturday, July 13) at Etra Lake Park. Free entertainment begins at 6 P.M. with Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:45 P.M. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. The spectacular Fireworks Display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 P.M. Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park. There will also be vendors present selling refreshments. This free event is made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.
- Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Hold Recycling Day Event on Wednesday, July 10, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files will be available from 4 P.M to 8 P.M. or until the truck is full, for East Windsor Residents Only. There is a limit of ten boxes per household; no commercial documents. Electronic recycling includes televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and radios. Residents also will be able to drop off fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, cell phones and printer cartridges. - Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Presented the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse (EWMAPSA) with 2024 Prevention Award, for their dedication contributing to and encouraging the healthy development of individuals and families through the coordinated efforts of community-based organizations which offer a wide variety of diverse multi-cultural and age-appropriate strategies, programs and events to combat substance abuse. EWMAPSA is recognized as a great example of a coalition of partners from local government, private citizens and community organizations working together to offer tools to help prevent substance abuse and further to provide opportunities and resources to individuals and families struggling with challenges of substance abuse. EWMAPSA is dedicated to increasing the level of community awareness and the prevention of problems related to alcohol, tobacco and other substance abuse through the encouragement and development of safe, healthy and responsible lifestyles for all residents. The East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse (EWMAPSA) was awarded the 2024 Prevention award from the Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction for their dedicated efforts in working to prevent substance abuse in the community. - NOTICE: The Transportation Provider for the Princeton Junction Shuttle Service to the Train Station Will Change to Stouts Transportation (from Irvin Raphael), Effective July 1, 2024. So, look for the new bus. The shuttle routes and fares will remain unchanged. The Princeton Junction Shuttle commuter bus service, servicing East Windsor and Hightstown, provides service to and from the Princeton Junction Train Station during the morning and evening rush hours, Monday through Friday excluding holidays. Pick-ups and drop-offs will be made in the circular driveway in front of the Princeton Junction Train Station. Limited morning pickup service at the Princeton Junction Train Station with corresponding evening pickup service at two locations in East Windsor also is available.
