  1. East Windsor Township Experienced Major Structure Fire in Building K of the American Way Condominiums on Avon Drive in Twin Rivers Late Afternoon on Monday, June 10. Substantial damage resulted making the building uninhabitable and displacing the occupants of all 24 units. No injuries to residents or fire personnel were reported. East Windsor Township officials are extremely grateful to the many first responders who professionally, caringly and effectively were on hand to assist residents and to put out the fire and secure the site. Special thank you to the Township police officers for their excellent work, and to fire personnel from numerous fire departments throughout our area and beyond, including locally, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2, Hightstown Fire Department, Robbinsville Fire Department and the Mercer County Fire Coordinators Office. At this time, the fire has been determined to be non-suspicious. The American Red Cross has provided assistance in setting up an emergency shelter and providing meals. Displaced residents needing help or individuals wishing to donate to the victims of this fire event are encouraged to contact the American Red Cross (CLICK HERE) directly or RISE (CLICK HERE), located at 219 Franklin Street in Hightstown, which will be accepting donations of various items specifically for the victims of the fire.
  2. East Windsor Township Presented Awards for the Years 2022 and 2023 to Local Businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community. Categories of recognition include Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and Community Enhancement - providing any community value added aspect related to their business.

    Congratulations for 2022 Township Business Awards to,

    CHIPOTLE. The popular Mexican grill restaurant chain, positively transformed the 5 year vacant former Capital One Bank pad site in the Town Center Plaza into a modern reconfigured 2,746 square foot restaurant. Chipotle has created 60 new local jobs, of which over 25 were area high school students, and has established commendable green sustainable practices in areas of their business operations.

    HIGHTSTOWN ELKS LODGE #1955. Located on Hickory Corner Road, this Fraternal organization of local folks seeks to improve lives within the community and have fun. The local Elks provide and host an impressive number of community programs including Red Cross Blood Drives, Academic Scholarship Awards, Drug Awareness Program, Sponsor of Children with Disabilities to Summer Camp, Overseas Military Support Programs, Youth Sports Contests & Sponsorships and more.

    INNOVATION PARK. The campus consists of two buildings of just under 600,000 square feet prominently located on Princeton Hightstown Road, on land formerly occupied by McGraw Hill. Innovation Park provides an appealing facility designed specifically for innovative high-tech and pharma related tenants, featuring modern attractive architectural features, outdoor walking paths and public spaces, and additional landscape and berming with deciduous, ornamental and evergreen trees.

    Congratulations for 2023 Township Business Awards to,

    PRIMROSE SCHOOL OF East Windsor. Located in a highly visible location on Dutch Neck Road just off of Route 130 North, Primrose positively transformed the vacant former Rite Aid site into a modern reconfigured new childcare early education facility for community families.

    KIMCO REALTY. Oversees East Windsor Village shopping center (“Target Center”) on Princeton Hightstown Road. Kimco Realty has fully leased East Windsor Village with a great mix of retail stores including Target, TJ Max, Kohls, Patels Grocery, Bath & Body Works, Skechers, as well as a new full-service restaurant coming soon to the vacant former Charlie Browns. Kimco provides excellent property maintenance of the building, parking areas and plantings and landscaping.

    GETINGE. Founded in 1904 in Sweden, is a global medical device technology company which provides innovative equipment and systems to healthcare and life sciences industries, which improve and save lives. Getinge is occupying one of the two buildings in the Innovation Park complex, with other facilities in France, China, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Netherlands and United Kingdom.

  3. Mayor Mironov and Council Members Congratulate Riviera at East Windsor on their 20th Anniversary Celebration. Mayor Mironov and Council Members Marc Lippman and John Zoller presented to the Riviera Board of Trustees a Proclamation, recounting the history including the large treasure of American Indian prehistoric artifacts unearthed on site, and the many special features of the Riviera community including the theme named streets for renowned space scientists, the preserved open space surrounding the development, and the scenic one-mile walking trail which winds its way around the community. The Mayoral Proclamation recognizes "Riviera at East Windsor 20th Anniversary - June 1st, 2024, and congratulates the Riviera at East Windsor residents on this milestone and the value shared by this interesting, diverse, volunteer-spirited, green contributing and quite unique community that enriches our municipality."

  4. Improvements to Greenbrook Drive and Connecting Streets -- Marilyn Drive, Hope Valley Drive and Meadowview Drive Continue. Concrete repairs as needed to curbs and driveway aprons have been completed. Milling and paving is scheduled to begin Monday, June 17, weather permitting. The project is expected to be completed within one to two weeks.

  5. East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Saturday, July 6 (rain date Saturday, July 13) at Etra Lake Park. Free entertainment begins at 6 P.M. with Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:45 P.M. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. The spectacular Fireworks Display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 P.M. Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park. There will also be vendors present selling refreshments. This free event is made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.
