September 6, 2024 - East Windsor Is Holding Ceremony for Anniversary of 9/11 on Wednesday, September 11 at 5 P.M. to remember and honor the anniversary of September 11. The ceremony will take place at the existing 9/11 Memorial located on the grounds of the East Windsor Township Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard). Participants will include the school district, clergy, veterans, police officers, fire company volunteers, scouts and local officials. The public is encouraged to join us in ensuring "We Will Never Forget."
- ALERT: Starting Monday, September 9, Mercer County Is Scheduled to Begin Resurfacing Town Center Road, from Route 130 North to North Main Street. Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, at the request of Township elected officials, is providing cooperative assistance to help improve portions of municipal roads. Upon completion of Town Center Road, Mercer County will resurface One Mile Road, from County Route 571 to just past the Route 133 accesses, followed by the restriping of the center line for the entire road. EXPECT DELAYS, as the work will include temporary lane closures. The two projects, which will consist of milling and paving, are expected to be completed by the end of the month, weather permitting.
- REMINDER: Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program Funded by $7,500 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Will Be Held on Saturday, September 7, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the East Windsor Lightbridge Academy (149 Route 130 North). The Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. The last event of the year will take place at the East Windsor Police/Court building (80 One Mile Road) on Monday, September 16 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M.
- Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Hold Recycling Day Event on Saturday, September 28, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files will be available from 4 P.M to 8 P.M. or until the truck is full, for East Windsor Residents Only. There is a limit of ten boxes per household; no commercial documents. Electronic recycling includes televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and radios. Residents also will be able to drop off fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, cell phones and printer cartridges. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, September 21, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil-based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions and microwaves will be accepted. East Windsor Offers Free Flu Clinics on Thursday, October 10 from 9:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. and on Thursday, October 24 from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. The vaccinations are by appointment only, by calling the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 422.
