  1. ALERT REMINDER: Mercer County is Completing Resurfacing Improvements to Town Center Road, from Route 130 North to North Main Street. Beginning Tuesday, September 17, Mercer County Will Commence Resurfacing Improvements to One Mile Road, from Route 571 to North of the Route 133 Bypass Exit, followed by the restriping of the center line for the entire road. Work Hours are from 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, at the request of Township elected officials, is providing cooperative assistance to help improve portions of municipal roads. EXPECT DELAYS, as the work will include temporary lane closures. The two projects, which will consist of milling and paving, are expected to be completed before the end of the month, weather permitting.
  2. REMINDER: The Final 2024 Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program Funded by $7,500 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Will Be Held on Monday, September 16 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the East Windsor Police/Court building (80 One Mile Road). The Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws.
  3. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Hold Recycling Day Event on Saturday, September 28, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files will be available from 4 P.M to 8 P.M. or until the truck is full, for East Windsor Residents Only. There is a limit of ten boxes per household; no commercial documents. Electronic recycling includes televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and radios. Residents also will be able to drop off fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, cell phones and printer cartridges. RISE will be on site to collect usable furniture, clothing, blankets and working household appliances and electronics. For further information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 415.

  4. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, September 21, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil-based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions and microwaves will be accepted.   5. East Windsor Offers Free Flu Clinics on Thursday, October 10 from 9:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. and on Thursday, October 24 from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. The vaccinations are by appointment only, by calling the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 422.

  6. East Windsor Township Held 23rd Anniversary Ceremony for 9-11 and Remembers Township Residents Colleen Barkow, Lorraine Bay, Debbie Bellows, Anil Bharvaney, Neil Lai, Ruth Lapin as well as Joseph Pycior and All Others Lost on September 11, 2001. Participants in the Township 9-11 ceremony, which included local officials, fire company volunteers, police, clergy, students, veterans, scouts and local organizations, shared words of reflection, readings, musical presentations and prayers, to remember and honor the events and victims of that day.

    A wreath laying ceremony at the East Windsor Township 9/11 memorial on the municipal building grounds took place during the Township community remembrance program.
