  1. ALERT: On Monday, March 31, the Mercer County Department of Transportation Plans to Commence Milling and Resurfacing of North Main Street (County Route 539) in East Windsor from the Middlesex Countyline South to Town Center Drive. Mercer County has agreed at Township request to add to the project municipal roadway Old Cranbury Road from North Main Street to Route 130. During construction, both lanes of North Main Street and Old Cranbury Road will be closed to through traffic from 9:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Detours will be posted to use Town Center Drive, Route 130, Hightstown-Cranbury Station Road and Wyckoff Mills Road to avoid the area. Access will be permitted for local residents. Weather permitting, Mercer County anticipates completion in ten business days.
  2. Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaimed March Women's History Month, joined by several area elected officials -- NJ Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy, Mercer County Surrogate Diane Gerofsky, Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami-Covello, Hopewell Township Mayor Courtney Peters-Manning and East Windsor Council Member Denise Daniels. Mayor Mironov acknowledged the many women who have served in so many fields and ways both today and during our history, who have played a valuable role contributing to our communities. Each of the officials spoke about their experiences and thanked those who encouraged and mentored them, and the importance of annually recognizing Women's History Month and continuing to cultivate and encourage other women as future leaders. The Proclamation recognizes and celebrates "the accomplishments and substantial contributions of women over history to our civic, political and cultural life, and the many women of extraordinary leadership and commitment, whose vision, achievements and unwavering determination have strengthened our society and paved the way for progress, to the betterment of the lives of the citizens of East Windsor Township and the State of New Jersey".

  3. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Sponsor Recycling Day Event on Saturday, April 5 from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files will be available, until the shredding truck is full, to East Windsor Residents Only. No commercial documents, there is a limit of ten boxes per household. Plastic film recycling including, bread bags, grocery bags, air pillows, ziploc, bubble wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, shipping envelopes and newspaper sleeves. Electronic recycling is available for computers, computer monitors, laptops, VCR's and televisions. Also accepted for drop-off are fluorescent bulbs, cell phones and printer cartridges. No other electrical items will be accepted. RISE will be on site to collect usable furniture, clothing, blankets and working household appliances and electronics.   4. Township and Mercer County Will Hold Special Passport Day on Wednesday, April 2 from 2:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard). Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello are sponsoring this special Passport Day locally at which the Mercer County Clerk’s Office will process United States passport applications on-site for residents. Residents may show up, but are encouraged to call (609) 989-6473 to reserve a specific appointment time. To apply, residents will need: (1) proof of U.S. citizenship in the form of a state certified birth certificate, a U.S. naturalization certificate or a previous U.S. passport, and (2) proof of identity in the form of a current driver’s license or state issued identification card. Cost of the passport is $130 for adults, and $100 for minors, plus a processing fee of $35. Passport photos can be taken on-site if needed for $15 or $10 for senior citizens.   5. East Windsor Township Soliciting Nominations for Annual "Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer." The Award is to recognize a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to the community by way of the schools, religious institutions, service organizations or directly to the public. This service can be in leadership or in direct service. Nominees must be at least 60 years of age and residents of East Windsor. The award is named after Sylvia Weiss, a former East Windsor Township Council Member, past Council senior citizen advisor and chairperson of the Commission on Aging, who was instrumental in the original formation of the senior citizen program. Local individuals and organizations are encouraged to nominate a senior citizen for this honor. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, April 14, 2025.   6. East Windsor Sponsors Recycling Poster Contest for Local Elementary School Students for Earth Day. The theme of the poster is to promote any of the "4 Rs" of the Township Recycling Program Logo, which are: RECYCLE all items that can be recycled; REUSE other items rather than throw them out in the trash; REDUCE materials into homes that then have to be disposed of, and REBUY - i.e., buy goods that use recycled materials. Posters should be left by Wednesday April 9, at the East Windsor Municipal Building Mayor's Office. Participants should be certain to provide on the back of each poster the student's name, address, phone number, grade level, parent/guardian E-mail address and school attended. Contest winners will be notified and awards, including gift certificate to Barnes and Noble donated by Shiseido, will be made by Mayor Janice S. Mironov at an Earth Day ceremony. Winning posters will be displayed in the municipal building lobby.
  7. Township Accepting Applications from Residents for Participation in the 2025 East Windsor Community Garden. The Community Garden is located on the Disbrow Hill Road Park open space property, adjacent to the Disbrow Hill playing fields and across from Etra Lake Park. The Community Garden provides residents with the opportunity to rent a plot of land to plant their own fruits and vegetables. Applications for 2025 garden plots will be prioritized to residents who rented plots in 2024, and other resident applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.   8. Stream Cleanup Co-Sponsored by The Watershed Institute and East Windsor Township on Saturday, April 26, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Etra Lake Park, Rain or Shine. Pre-registration is preferred (CLICK HERE). Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and long sleeves, and bring work gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Adults must accompany minors.   9. Annual East Windsor Egg Hunt Is Scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at 10:30 A.M., at Etra Lake Park (rain date is Sunday, April 6 at 10:30 A.M.). The egg hunt is for children in pre-school through Grade 5. This annual event features lots of candy, prizes, and fun! There is no fee or registration, but each child should bring a basket or bag.   10. Mercer County Board of Elections Is Seeking Poll Workers to work at the election districts for the June 10 primary and November 4 general election. The daily pay for poll workers is $300. Eligibility requirements, instructions on how to apply, and additional important information are available on the Mercer County Board of Elections website (CLICK HERE).
  11. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 9. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2025 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9.
