April 18, 2025 - ALERT: On Monday, April 28, the Mercer County Department of Transportation Plans to Commence Milling and Resurfacing of Etra Road (County Route 571) from Milford Rd to the Mercer County Border with Monmouth County. During construction, both lanes of Etra Road will be closed to through traffic from 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Detours will be posted to use Cedarville Road and Windsor-Perrineville Road to avoid the area. Access will be permitted for local residents. Mercer County anticipates completion by Friday, May 9, weather permitting.
- Playa Bowls Opens in Windsor Center at the Intersection of Route 130 South and Route 571. Founded by NJ natives and labelled “New Jersey’s Original Acai Shop,” Playa Bowls has grown to over 200 locations nationwide in the past 10 years.  - East Windsor Proclaimed April "Alcohol Awareness Month" and Recognized East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School After Prom Committee. The Mayoral Proclamation stated, "the After Prom Committee provides for a safe and substance free evening of entertainment and activities for all high school seniors and their guests at no cost and has been providing the event for over 32 years and during those years there have been no alcohol or drug related incidents on prom night." Mayor Mironov and Council Members also presented a $1,050 grant check from the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse (EWMAPSA) to East Windsor Regional School District (EWRSD) Hightstown High School After Prom Committee President Tara Cesaro, Hospitality Chair Maria Vance and Entertainment Chair Carmen Horana.

The improvement project is funded by a $1.3 Million state grant for parks and recreation improvements, applied for and received by Mayor and Council. The contract, awarded to low quote ATT Sports Inc of Berlin, NJ, will include the resurfacing and repair of the basketball court as well as the repair of the basketball backboard and rim. Work is anticipated to be undertaken over the next couple of months.

- East Windsor Is Inviting Residents to Apply for Home Improvement Funds Pursuant to the Township Small Cities Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program. Funded by a $195,551 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, funds are provided as a no interest deferred loan, for eligible improvements and homeowners. The amount is not due or payable until sale or transfer of title and only for the exact amount. There is no cost to apply. Residents who are income eligible can receive up to $25,000 under this program for needed home improvement work such as roofs, foundations, heating, plumbing and electrical systems, and lead based paint hazard remediation.  - East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, April 26, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.
- East Windsor Promotes Township Memorial Tree Program During Arbor Day, which is celebrated on the last Friday of April. The Memorial Tree Program offers residents a unique opportunity to provide a living memorial to a deceased relative or friend or in remembrance or commemoration of a special person, group or event, by the planting of a tree in the Township Memorial Tree Grove located on the grounds of the East Windsor municipal building. The tree, including tree planting and accompanying granite marker with the name of the deceased person or event to be remembered, can be ordered through the Public Works Department. - East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 9. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2025 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. - East Windsor Township Introduces SDL Portal for Building Permit Information Beginning Wednesday, April 16. SDL provides residents with access to construction services they would normally request in person at the municipal building, now conveniently available online. SDL will assist East Windsor Residents in accessing building permit applications, permit records and requesting inspections. - PUBLIC NOTICE: East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants during overnight hours on the following dates. This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use.
